Stadium Security & Guest Services Jobs

Stadium security and guest services: the widest door into pro sports

There are 251 open stadium security and guest services roles across 90 organizations.

Security and guest services is the largest hiring category in pro sports and the least competitive one to enter. Every home date needs event security officers, screening and bag-check staff, ushers and ticket takers, guest relations representatives, and supervisors to run them. A single NFL or MLB venue can staff several hundred of these positions per game, which is why the openings never really stop.

The roles split into two tracks worth telling apart. Security work leans toward licensed or certifiable positions, crowd management, and access control, and often prefers prior security, military, or law-enforcement experience for supervisory roles. Guest services is hospitality work: wayfinding, seating, accessibility support, and de-escalating problems before they become security's problem. Both are usually part-time and paid hourly, and both hire in waves ahead of each season.

Treat these jobs as the entry point they actually are. Front offices hire internally more than outsiders expect, and event staff who show up reliably for two seasons are known quantities when a full-time operations or guest experience coordinator role opens. Apply directly through each team's careers page, and apply early in the preseason wave rather than mid-season when rosters are already set.

Frequently asked questions

What do stadium security and guest services jobs involve?

Event security and access control, screening and bag check, ushering and ticket taking, guest relations and accessibility support, and crowd management. A single NFL or MLB venue can staff several hundred of these positions for one event.

Do you need experience or a license?

Guest services roles generally need neither - they are hospitality jobs and train on site. Security roles more often want a state guard license or certification, and supervisory positions frequently prefer prior security, military, or law-enforcement experience.

Can event staff lead to a full-time team job?

Regularly. Most of these roles are part-time and hourly, but front offices hire internally more than outsiders expect, and reliable event staff are known quantities when full-time operations and guest experience roles open.
