Job Summary:
The Norfolk Tides are seeking a motivated and dependable Seasonal Assistant to join our Field Operations team for the 2027 Minor League Baseball season. This position offers an opportunity to work in professional sports and assist with the daily operation and maintenance of a Triple-A baseball field.

The Norfolk Tides are the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, playing at Harbor Park in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. The team captured the 2023 International League and Triple-A National Championships, showcasing one of the deepest prospect groups in baseball. Essential Duties:
- Perform daily preparation and maintenance of a professional baseball field including infield skin, mound, home plate, warning track, and natural turf areas.
- Execute turfgrass maintenance practices including mowing, edging, aeration, fertilization, and overseeding.
- Maintain infield surfaces through dragging, raking, grading, and clay management to ensure safe, consistent playing conditions.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and specialized field maintenance equipment.
- Assist with field setup, cleanup, and maintenance for games, practices, and special events.
- Monitor field conditions, identify safety hazards and drainage issues, and assist with corrective maintenance.
- Assist with inventory management and organization of equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support field operations and ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or working towards a degree in a related field.
- Previous experience working with a professional team or collegiate program is preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Must be available to work long hours, weekends, and some holidays.
- Comfortable being exposed to inclement weather including rain and heat.
- Ability to work all 75 Norfolk Tides home games and select special events.
