The VP of Stadium Operations leads the day-to-day planning and execution of all event operations at Levi's Stadium. The VP translates the venue's strategic and safety priorities into flawless on-the-ground execution across the full calendar of 49ers games, concerts, and major events, managing budgets, staffing, vendors, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure every event delivers a safe, world-class experience for fans and partners. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for the strategic vision and successful execution of all event operations including event operations and logistics through disciplined, repeatable project management practices consistent with the department's methodology.
  • Develops and manages event operations budgets and cost estimates using standardized project plans, timelines, and tracking tools. Establishes and documents department procedures, policies, and playbooks, and monitors event performance against defined milestones and post-event metrics.
  • Collaborates with various departments, staff, organizational leadership, vendors, contractors and outside agencies through a structured project governance approach—clear roles, milestones, and communication cadences—necessary to execute world class events.
  • Provides direction and strategic planning in the evaluation, selection, management and feedback of contractors and staff, holding all parties accountable to documented scopes of work, timelines, and performance standards.
  • Strategic leader for all planning, coordination, communication, and execution of all events operations, applying phase-gated project management discipline (pre-event planning, live-event execution, post-event review) to drive consistent, repeatable outcomes.
  • Successful oversight of Stadium & Event Operations including Logistics, AV, Broadcast Operations, Engineering Operations and Janitorial Services.
  • Ensure event-level compliance with safety codes, ADA requirements, and league/venue security standards across all operational areas.
  • Lead the post-event debrief process, capturing operational learnings and fan feedback to drive continuous improvement in guest experience and efficiency.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact with local public safety agencies (law enforcement, fire, EMS) for event-level staffing and coordination.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Events, and Revenue to ensure operational execution supports sponsorship, brand, and revenue commitments at the event level.
  • Support capital improvement and technology upgrade projects through on-site execution and vendor coordination.

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent event-operations workstreams.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing cross-functional, unionized, and third-party vendor workforces in a live-event or 24/7 operations environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives, staff, contractors, and external partners.
  • Sound judgment and composure under pressure, particularly in time-sensitive, high-visibility, or emergency situations.
  • Strong analytical and budget-management skills, including cost estimating, vendor contract negotiation, and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of venue safety, security, and emergency management best practices (ADA, life safety codes, crowd management).

 

Education and Experience: 

  • At least 12+ years’ relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in stadium, arena, or large-venue operations, event management, or a related field, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership/management role.

Compensation: 
$220,000 - $235,000 annually
