As the ThunderVision team for the Oklahoma City Thunder, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality productions that engage our fans and tell the story of our brand. We are looking for a Producer, ThunderVision to help lead control room systems, personnel, and operations for games and events.
In this role, you will also serve as a liaison to Legends Global (Paycom Center management) for all third-party events regarding video and graphic elements. You will work closely with concert promoters, show producers, and other entities to provide a world-class in-arena video production. Key management duties will include assisting in hiring staff, scheduling, and training. Leading up to game and event days, you will work closely with Executive Producers and Producers to ensure teammates and content are fully prepared. On game and event days, you will provide leadership in the control room to ensure the department performs effectively, meets organizational standards, and represents the Thunder brand.
In this role you will:
Provide control room leadership during live games and events alongside the Director, ThunderVision, serving in any position necessary to complete the game or event, including directing, assistant directing, producing, and technical directing
Manage game-night staff through organizational communications throughout game and event days
Contribute to the department in a leadership role with a focus on game-night personnel, hardware, and live production
Prepare extensive production plans for games and events, including Brand initiatives, Basketball Operations initiatives, theme nights, nationally televised games, third-party events, Media Day, and other productions
Maintain strong relationships and communication with ThunderVision leadership, Brand Influence & Identity, Live Production & Game Day Experience, and Corporate Partnerships
Serve as an ambassador of Brand Influence & Identity and ThunderVision across departments while providing consistent leadership and effective communication with teammates
Assist with the ideation, planning, creation, and execution of video production elements for home games and third-party events, working closely with ThunderVision teammates to execute at a high level
Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing short- and long-term maintenance solutions alongside ThunderVision Engineers
Work alongside ThunderVision leadership, Legends Global, and IT teams to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring the team stays up to date with hardware and software updates
Anticipate needs and mitigate potential issues from a systems and operations standpoint
Provide thoughtful and strategic input for game and event productions
Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Sports Media, Creative Media, or a related field preferred, with equivalent professional work experience considered in lieu of a degree
Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience
Minimum 6 years of professional live production experience
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of control room equipment, broadcast cameras and lenses, and DSLR cameras and lenses
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, make decisions, and collaborate under pressure in a fast-paced live control room environment
Extensive knowledge of video production processes, including lighting, sound, and camera techniques
Strong systems and project leadership skills with an emphasis on communication and attention to detail
Detailed technical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and perform or schedule required maintenance on video equipment
Additional details:
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director, ThunderVision. The work location will be the Oklahoma City Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and the schedule may include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by game and event schedules. Physical requirements of the job may include working extended shifts and working in-arena, which may include loud music, crowd noise, and flashing or strobe lights. A driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle insurance are required as some local travel will take place.
