As the Oklahoma City ThunderVision team, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality content to our fans. We are looking for an Animator/Designer to join our team and help bring the Thunder brand to life through engaging visual content.
As Animator/Designer, you will function as a visual effects animator for digital signage and LED systems. You will coordinate, produce, and implement the integration of live-action footage, graphics, text, still imagery, and sound to create 2D and 3D motion graphic animations. You will play an integral part in fulfilling contractual commitments with our corporate sponsors and developing live entertainment segments
In this role you will:
Produce and build graphic animations for Paycom Center’s various digital signage systems
Conceptualize, design, and transform scripts and visualizations into fluid, effective motion graphics and video content
Produce and edit graphic and video elements that promote upcoming shows and use digital signage to support event themes
Develop new in-game entertainment concepts, including on-court promotions, video pieces, fan interactive elements, mascot skits, and other features
Create game-day graphics, including feature titles, lower thirds, fan prompts, and stat pages
Design and build graphic elements to support media presentations for various departments, including Broadcasting, Marketing, Web, Social Media, and Corporate Partnerships
Assist in researching and implementing motion graphics and production software and hardware upgrades
Develop and maintain organized processes that support efficient department workflows and daily responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional work experience in animation and design
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional motion graphics design and animation experience
Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Blender, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred
Experience with video production and live production preferred, with knowledge of Daktronics Show Control, Chyron Click Effects, and Ross XPression
Ability to work independently on projects while adapting to the needs and priorities of a fast-paced team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to take ideas from concept through completion
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Additional Details:
This is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Lead Animator/Designer, ThunderVision. The work location will be the Oklahoma City Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and the schedule may include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by game and event schedules. Physical requirements of the job may include working extended shifts and working in-arena, which may include loud music, crowd noise, and flashing or strobe lights. A driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle insurance are required as some local travel will take place.
