The Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking a Social Media Content Producer to help create engaging content and grow our connection with fans across social platforms. Since 2009, the Thunder has built a global social media following of more than 22 million and consistently ranks among the NBA’s leading teams in followers and engagement.

In this role, you will primarily support the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League team, while contributing to Thunder and other organizational social accounts. You will create and publish content, provide game-day and event coverage, monitor social platforms, track performance and insights, and collaborate across departments on campaigns and organizational needs. This role combines hands-on content creation with social media planning and analysis to help grow our brands and connect with fans.

In this role you will:

  • Support the success and growth of Oklahoma City Blue social accounts and other organizational accounts, including the Thunder mascot, Team Shop, Thunder Cares, and main Thunder social platforms as needed

  • Create content for social audiences using photography, vertical video, video editing tools, and mobile-specific software and applications

  • Monitor activity and audience engagement across social platforms

  • Compile social media analytics and create regular reports to keep the organization and partners informed of performance, impact, and audience insights

  • Support department communications and collaborate on campaigns and deliverables

  • Stay informed of social media trends, current events, platform developments, and popular culture to identify relevant content opportunities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Oklahoma City Blue and Thunder brands, audiences, and Oklahoma City market and serve as a social media resource for the Oklahoma City Blue

  • Collaborate with Basketball Operations, Blue business staff, and other departments to support organizational needs

  • Identify social media opportunities that demonstrate the value of the Blue and Thunder brands and support measurable audience growth and engagement, including global audiences and co-branded or sponsored content

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work or military experience, plus a minimum of one year of professional work in digital marketing, social media, or related field

  • Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, tools, and best practices that support effective content and audience engagement

  • Demonstrated ability to create content for social platforms using photography, vertical video, and social publishing tools

  • Familiarity with video production, including pre-production, production, and post-production, is a plus

  • Proficiency with social media analytics, publishing, and monitoring tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated editing and proofreading ability

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while adjusting to changing needs and solving problems in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and After Effects

  • NBA or professional sports background is beneficial but not required

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or Mandarin is a plus

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information

  • A digital portfolio featuring relevant writing, photography, video, and/or social media work will be required as part of the application process

Additional Details:

This is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Manager, Social Media. The work schedule will include office hours as well as evenings, weekends and holidays for game nights and events. A driver’s license, sound driving record, and proof of automobile insurance are required, as some travel may be required, occasionally including overnight trips. The primary work location is the Thunder corporate office at Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. Physical requirements may include climbing stairs and working in a live event environment with loud crowd noise, music, and in-arena lighting, including strobe lights.
