The Tampa Bay Rays are looking for enthusiastic and customer-oriented individuals to serve as Fan
Hosts during Enchant Christmas, the world’s largest Christmas light maze and market. Fan Hosts
will help create a welcoming, safe, and memorable experience for all guests visiting Tropicana
Field.
Qualified individuals will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Help keep Enchant Christmas “event-ready” by preparing assigned areas for guests, wiping
down surfaces, looking for potential hazards, reporting any issues to a supervisor, etc.
• Proactively greet guests throughout Tropicana Field and provide friendly, knowledgeable
assistance.
• Scan tickets and assist guests with the entry process.
• Assist guests with navigating the event, including locating attractions, activities, restrooms,
exits, and other areas throughout the venue.
• Work a variety of assigned positions as needed, which may include maze guide, ticket
scanner, skate shop attendant, guest services, or other event positions.
• Receive and quickly act upon requests or complaints from guests.
• Help create a fun, welcoming, and festive atmosphere by spreading holiday cheer
throughout the event.
• Monitor and enforce access to exclusive areas.
• Implement event rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Observe assigned areas and proactively identify any areas that may need attention.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, supervisors, management, and
vendors.
• Ability to ensure crowds can adhere to stadium policies and deescalate guest issues as
needed.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Actively listen and understand feedback, direction and inquiries.
• Ability to work effectively in a variety of assigned roles and adapt to changing event needs.
• Ability to use technology applications for scheduling and job functions.
• Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance while adhering to position uniform
standards.
Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands:
• Must be able to work in all posts assigned with various conditions, including heat, cold,
rain, and other weather conditions, limited-lighting environments when assigned to outdoor
positions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs the entirety of the shift, including shifts of five or
more hours. Seated positions will not be available for this event.
• Must be able to bend, crouch, climb stairs, and work in high elevations and enclosed
spaces.
• Comfortability and patiently work in a high-activity and heavily crowded event environment.
• Capability to use fine motor skills to scan tickets, apply wristbands, and handle ice skates.
• Must understand the spatial surroundings of an assigned area, as the event space is a maze
and can be difficult to navigate.
Scheduling Requirements:
• Ability to work the entire event shift, including during peak attendance periods.
• Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as
needed.
• Must be available to work during the Enchant Christmas event, including Christmas Eve,
Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
