Job description

Title: Domestic Scouting Analyst Fellow
Department: Domestic Scouting
Location: Baltimore
Reports To: 
Assistant Director, Draft Operations
FLSA Status: Part-time/Seasonal, Hourly

Role Overview:
This position will assist in all functions pertaining to the First-Year Player Draft including day-to-day front office operations, statistical collection & review, draft research, and player evaluation. This is a seasonal position that is based out of Baltimore, MD.

Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties to include, but not limited to, the following:
  • General administrative and logistical support for Domestic Scouting Department
  • Hone player evaluation skills through in-person looks, video, statistics, and other relevant sources of information
  • Collaborate with front office, scouts, and other departments during pre-draft process
  • Troubleshoot technical and equipment issues and aid scouts
  • Operate various technologies to collect performance data on players at club workouts
  • Edit and upload video to share as necessary
  • Conduct special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of baseball and scouting landscape
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with staff members of diverse backgrounds
  • Must possess intellectual curiosity, an open mind, and desire to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL preferred
  • Ability to work long hours; evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed
 
The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $20/hour.
