Position Summary/Objective: 

The primary focus of this position is to develop, activate, and execute youth sports experiences along with supporting the overall daily functions of the Youth Sports and Group Events department. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide excellent customer service by creating unique touch points, promptly responding to requests or communications, and establishing a dynamic relationship with all customers. 
  2. Coordinate the execution of youth sports events and experiences, from booking to day of activation, working closely with Youth Sports sales executives, Group Events Director, internal stakeholders and Target Center staff.
  3. Support Group Events department by coordinating special events and Fan Experience programs by working with the Director of Group Events, event reps, clients, and/or other Timberwolves/Lynx and Target Center staff.  
  4. Be on-site contact for all Youth Sports initiatives including pregame court time sessions, dark day events, and all other pertaining events.
  5. Support the Youth Sports administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling referees, assisting with client ticketing needs, and coordinating the event schedule for all pertinent parties.
  6. Work closely with the Group Events Director to develop organization’s Youth Sports event plans including process and timelines, as well as managing internal and external communication.
  7. Assist Director of Group Events in administrative tasks such as coordination of large projects. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  2. Ability to establish effective client and interdepartmental relationships, manage multiple client contacts and projects, and drive business.
  3. Able to interface with colleagues, senior executives, and clients effectively and personably, recognizing the need to adjust communication style accordingly to the audience.
  4. Ability to tactfully handle and resolve issues and follow up accordingly.
  5. Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred.
  6. Knowledge of CRM is strongly preferred.
  7. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  8. Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  9. Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.

Additional information:
Experience:  Minimum one (1) years of similar experience preferred. Experience working in the business side of a professional, minor league or college team is preferred.
Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. In addition to working office hours staff will be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, Youth Sports specific events, and potential ticket sales/service events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise.  

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this non-exempt role will be: $50,000.
