Position Summary/Objective:
The Account Executive, Youth Sports is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies focused on engaging youth sports organizations, teams, and families with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. This role drives revenue growth through group ticket sales, youth sports partnerships, and all other ticketing products. The Account Executive collaborates with the Director of Group Events to deliver exceptional experiences that foster lifelong fan relationships and support organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies targeting youth sports organizations, leagues, schools, and families to increase ticket sales and attendance.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with youth sports partners, coaches, administrators, and community leaders.
  3. Coordinate group ticket sales efforts for youth teams, camps, and events, including special promotions and game-day experiences.
  4. Manage the sales pipeline, track performance metrics, and provide regular reporting to leadership on progress and opportunities.
  5. Plan and execute outreach events, presentations, and sales calls to generate new business and expand youth sports partnerships.
  6. Strong communication with client base to ensure experience expectations are relayed correctly and delivered upon to exceed client expectations.  
  7. Develop creative sales packages and prospecting events that are tailored to youth sports customers.
  8. Lead contract negotiations and maintain accurate records of agreements and transactions.
  9. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and community needs to identify new sales opportunities.
  10. Represent the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx professionally at community events, youth sports tournaments, and networking opportunities.
  11. Support internal cross-departmental collaboration to maximize impact of youth sales efforts.
  12. Maintain a customer-focused approach to build loyalty and satisfaction among youth sports partners and families.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other:

Experience:
2+ years of sales or business development experience, preferably with a focus on youth sports, group sales, or general ticket sales.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
 
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
Familiarity with youth sports organizations and community networks is a plus.
 
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this non-exempt role will be: $50,000. There are opportunities for an annual corporate bonus. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:

Regular full-time employees start with 11 Holidays, at least 20 paid PTO days, 2 Volunteer days, and 4 Personal Holidays in each calendar year.


Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically 8:30 AM-5:30PM Monday-Friday. In addition to working office hours staff will work Timberwolves and Lynx home games as well as external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is both sedentary and active in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Office lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available, and may also operate in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps and moderate noise levels. 
 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff may occasionally ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move boxes or other items weighing up to 15 pounds.
 
Travel
Position may require travel to external events.
