Position Summary

The Video Tech Scout plays a pivotal role in the evaluation and development of baseball prospects in Latin America. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the execution of a holistic video and data collection process under the direction of the Manager, International Acquisitions. A successful Video Tech Scout will collect information with efficiency and precision, be open and willing to learn, be an effective communicator, and establish quality relationships throughout the department and international scouting community grounded in our Core Values.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and upload a variety of relevant information to internal athlete management systems, including but not limited to video, bat and ball tracking technologies, and physical assessments.
• Attend and gather data at scouting events throughout the assigned coverage area, with additional potential assignments in other parts of the country and internationally.
• Ensure that all information meets departmental standards, including participation in standalone quality control initiatives.
• Participate in frequent staff development and continuing education programming.
• Clean and maintain equipment as directed.
• Collaborate closely with the Manager, International Acquisitions to enhance the video and data processes within international scouting.
• Provide technical and scouting support to area staff as necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Must have a strong work ethic and desire to improve professional capabilities.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be technology savvy with strong knowledge of computers.
• Must be able to stand and walk in hot conditions for long periods of time.
• Must be able to carry equipment that can weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to interact professionally with scouts, agents, players, coaches, and front office personnel.
• Working English language proficiency preferred.
• Openness to international travel preferred.
