Reports to: Senior Director, Production Operations
Location: PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
Status: Paid Internship, Part-Time, In-Person
Schedule: Flexible scheduling within 12–18 hours per week, including availability during day and evening hours, game nights, weekends, and special events as needed.
Compensation: $10/hour
Overview
The Video Production Intern will assist on assigned shoots and editing as determined by the department supervisor. This internship provides hands-on experience across all facets of video production and will include opportunities to create content for in-game, web, TV broadcast, in-arena, and special event applications.
The intern will work closely with the Production team and will utilize Adobe Creative Suite, HD video cameras, audio equipment, and other suitable software programs and production equipment. The intern will also gain experience with game-night production and the ENG aspect of team coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production & Editing
- Assist on assigned shoots and editing as determined by the department supervisor.
- Create in-game elements.
- Create web elements.
- Create TV broadcast elements.
- Create in-arena assets.
- Assist with special projects to be aired in appropriate venues, including videos for private events.
Game-Day & Team Coverage
- Gain hands-on experience across all facets of production, including game-night production.
- Work closely with the ENG aspect of team coverage.
- Assist with production needs and projects as assigned by the department supervisor.
Production Equipment & Technical Execution
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite in the production and editing process.
- Operate HD video cameras, audio equipment, and other production equipment as appropriate.
- Assist with technical execution and other production needs as specified by the project.
- Support production planning and physical labor as needed for assigned projects.
Production Collaboration & Special Projects
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Production Operations and all members of the department.
- Assist with various production projects and goals as specified by the project.
- Gain exposure to the different facets of production through hands-on work and collaboration with the department.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Applicants should have completed at least two years of college or demonstrate equivalent education, training, or relevant experience in a related field.
- Ability to work in person at PPG Paints Arena.
- Availability to work 12–18 hours per week, including game nights, weekends, and special events as needed.
- Demonstrated interest in video production, broadcasting, digital media, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with HD video cameras and audio equipment.
- Experience in studio production, lighting, or green screen production.
- Experience with ENG production.
- Interest in sports production and live-event video.

Course Credit: Students remain eligible for earning course credits for their internship and will be responsible for ensuring that the internship meets the criteria of their program and/or university.
For the Video Production Internship: Media assets and created pieces can be used by the intern for educational and non-profit-bearing, self-promotional purposes.
