Security Supervisor (Overnight)

Rays Security Supervisors are uniformed, forward-facing leaders within a dynamic and diverse organization.  Supervisors lead and execute the daily security program at Tropicana Field and Al lang Stadium while enhancing the guest and employee experience. Security Supervisors ensure a safe and secure environment, manage shift security guards, support other departments and operational logistics, and manage issues of concern. 
Experienced security professional with demonstrated responsibility for supervising personnel, managing overnight operations, responding to emergencies, and documenting security-related incidents. This is a working-supervisor position requiring sound independent judgment, strong leadership, dependable attendance, and the ability to make timely decisions with limited on-site management support. 
 
Duties: 
  • Serve as the senior security decision-maker on duty during assigned overnight shifts 
  • Supervise on duty guard force and manage all shift security activities 
  • Supervise security control room and alarms 
  • Monitor CCTV and other security technology 
  • Direct and supervise all fixed posts and patrols to ensure that all security program requirements and objectives are achieved 
  • Respond to, and resolve, incidents and emergencies making critical decisions when necessary 
  • Coordinate with public safety officials when appropriate 
  • Ensure that all required reports, log activities, and administrative duties are completed to established standards 
  • Train new security staff and ensure security orientation goals are met 
  • Assist with operational needs of the stadium and other departments 
  • Evaluate staff performance and lead a shift of security staff with precise responsibilities 
  • Lead by example and foster a culture of professionalism and accountability 
  • Provide courteous and friendly service to all employees and guests 
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information 
  • Brief senior organizational leadership when necessary and liaison with other departments to enhance operational efficiencies when appropriate 
  • Ensure compliance with access control procedures, facility opening and closing protocols, emergency procedures, and established post orders. 
  • Review officer reports, incident reports, patrol logs, and control-room documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timely submission. 
 
 
Position Qualifications: 
  • Prior security experience (supervisory experience preferred) 
  • Minimum of three years of professional security, public safety, military, law enforcement, corrections, venue security, or closely related experience. 
  • Minimum of one year of documented experience supervising, directing, or serving as the lead for security personnel during an assigned shift. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain composed in high pressure situations 
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Willingness to enhance work environment with safety and security  
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptive and flexible in a constantly changing and dynamic work environment 
  • Experience with report writing and other security documentation methods  
  • Committed to continued professional development and training 
  • Previous experience in a security control room, command center, stadium, arena, large public venue, corporate campus, or similarly complex operation is strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience using CCTV, access-control systems, alarm-monitoring platforms, two-way radios, incident-reporting systems, and other security technology. 
 

Physical Demands and Environment: 
  • This position often requires standing and walking 
  • This position is generally located both indoors and outdoors 
  • Stadium events are often noisy and crowded 
  • This position is year-round, shift work including evening, overnight and weekend shifts
