Job Summary: Assist in the day-to-day programs and routines of all Major League and Minor League players in the Reds Organization during rehabilitation from injury at the Goodyear Player Development Complex in Goodyear, AZ.

Requirements:
Education & Licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
  • Player Development and/or Scouting experience with a professional baseball club preferred. 
  • Experience playing college and/or professional baseball preferred.
Skills
  • Independent judgment and ability to multitask are required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be trustworthy and comfortable with managing sensitive information.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of departments, seniority levels, and personalities.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of typical baseball data structures, plus knowledge of current baseball research and traditional baseball statistics and strategy. 
Other 
  • Spoken and written fluency in English. Spanish-speaking preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the United States and internationally.
  • Willing to relocate. Position is based in Goodyear, AZ.
 
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Rehab Coaching – 45%
  • Collaborate with Rehab staff to develop and implement individualized development plans for players assigned to the rehab group.
  • Ensure players receive consistent messaging regarding development objectives, rehabilitation goals, and organizational standards.
  • Balance rehabilitation-specific coaching responsibilities with broader player development objectives.
  • Support players throughout the rehabilitation process to facilitate successful return to competition.
Communication & Program Coordination – 25%
  • Communicate regularly with Rehabilitation staff, coaches, and Player Development personnel regarding player status and progression.
  • Coordinate with field staff and grounds crew regarding scheduling, field usage, and facility availability during Spring Training and the ACL season.
  • Ensure alignment between rehabilitation activities and overall baseball operations schedules.
Player Monitoring & Documentation – 20%
  • Provide daily documentation of player progress, coaching activities, and noteworthy player interactions.
  • Prepare monthly performance reviews, development plans, and goal-setting summaries.
  • Maintain accurate records to support player evaluation, rehabilitation progress, and return-to-play decision-making.
Organizational & On-Field Support – 10%
  • Assist ACL staff with player development activities and on-field responsibilities.
  • Support daily baseball operations as needed.

  • Director, Rehab & Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily duties
  • Must be able to catch elite professional pitching on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to throw and/or long toss on a daily basis.
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, confined spaces like locker rooms).
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks such as equipment setup, rehab-related movement, etc.
  • Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like organizing equipment.
  • Ability to remain on feet to work long and variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
