Job Summary

Lead the daily preparation and development of pitchers at an assigned affiliate. This coach will help pitchers build the skills, routines, and competitive approach needed to contribute at the Major League level. 

The successful candidate will combine strong teaching ability, sound pitching knowledge, and the ability to turn player feedback, observation, video, and performance data into clear development priorities. Building trust with players and working closely with the affiliate staff and organizational pitching leadership are central to this role. 

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute individualized pitching plans with each player and organizational pitching leadership, establishing clear goals, training priorities, and measures of progress. 
2. Lead daily throwing programs, bullpen sessions, pitch-development work, and competitive practice activities that help pitchers transfer improvements into games. 
3. Coach delivery, command, pitch characteristics, arsenal development, sequencing, and game execution according to each pitcher’s needs. 
4. Prepare pitchers and catchers for opposing hitters through practical game plans that support both competitive performance and development goals. 
5. Assist the affiliate manager with pitching availability, bullpen preparation, and in-game decisions within organizational workload guidelines. 
6. Coordinate throwing schedules and workloads with athletic training, strength and conditioning, and other performance staff; follow medical restrictions and communicate concerns promptly. 
7. Use video, ball-tracking technology, and available biomechanical information to evaluate performance and guide instruction. Account for sample size, measurement quality, and competitive context when interpreting results. 
8. Conduct regular player meetings, communicate actionable feedback, and maintain accurate development notes in organizational systems. 
9. Share player progress, routines, and outstanding priorities with receiving staffs when pitchers change levels or assignments. 
10. Contribute to Spring Training, organizational camps, offseason planning, and staff development as assigned. 
11. Maintain a demanding, supportive environment built on preparation, accountability, curiosity, and respect. 

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Demonstrated experience coaching pitchers in professional, collegiate, or comparable baseball development settings. 
2. Strong understanding of pitching fundamentals and the ability to individualize instruction. 
3. Ability to explain technical information in language players can understand and apply. 
4. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across cultures and backgrounds. 
5. Comfort using video, performance reports, and digital tools to plan instruction and document progress. 
6. Strong organization, attention to detail, and willingness to seek feedback and adjust coaching approaches. 
7. Availability to relocate to the assigned location, travel with the affiliate, and work the baseball schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Desired:

1. Experience using TrackMan, Rapsodo, high-speed video, or comparable pitching technologies. 
2. Familiarity with biomechanics, skill acquisition, and throwing workload management. 
3. Experience collaborating with medical, strength and conditioning, sports science, and analytics staff. 
4. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
