Job Summary:

Player 15 Group is the sports and entertainment company behind the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA), Valley Suns (G League), and Mortgage Matchup Center.

Headquartered in downtown Phoenix, Player 15 Group is driven by a culture built on passion, creativity, innovation, and care. Our people are at the center of everything we do, united by a shared commitment to create unforgettable memories for our fans, partners, and community.

We offer a fast-paced, collaborative environment where every team member contributes to the success of our teams, the experiences of our fans, and the impact we make throughout our community.

We are seeking an organized, adaptable, and collaborative IT Project Manager to join our Enterprise Technology team. In this role, you will help drive technology initiatives from project readiness through successful delivery while strengthening the processes and practices used to manage project work across Enterprise Technology.

This is an individual contributor role that operates across a lean technology organization. The IT Project Manager will partner closely with Enterprise Technology leadership, IT Controls, Help Desk, Network and Systems Operations including Cybersecurity, business stakeholders, and external partners to coordinate resources, manage dependencies, maintain visibility, and keep project work moving forward.

Beyond managing individual projects, this role will play an important part in maturing how project work flows through Enterprise Technology. You will help develop consistent project management practices, establish effective feedback loops, and create greater visibility into project health, capacity, risks, decisions, and outcomes.

What You Will Do:

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Manage technology projects from project readiness through implementation, transition, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
  • Translate defined business needs and project requirements into clear plans of work in partnership with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Work with project participants to clarify requirements, workflows, system impacts, assumptions, and dependencies as projects progress.
  • Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, status reviews, and decision-making discussions to maintain alignment and momentum.
  • Identify risks, barriers, scope changes, and dependencies early and coordinate appropriate escalation when leadership decisions are needed.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and ensure decisions, changes, responsibilities, and next steps are visible to project stakeholders.

Project Management Framework & Governance Partnership

  • Play a key role in developing, implementing, and continuously improving the project management framework used across Enterprise Technology.
  • Help establish consistent approaches for how project-ready work moves through planning, prioritization, execution, status reporting, transition, and closeout.
  • Partner with IT Controls, Enterprise Technology leadership, and functional managers to develop project management practices that align with broader governance, risk, control, security, and operational expectations.
  • Help establish clear project lifecycle stages, readiness expectations, decision points, handoffs, documentation standards, status expectations, and escalation paths.
  • Promote consistent use of project management processes, templates, tools, and documentation across Enterprise Technology.
  • Identify gaps in project management practices and recommend improvements that increase visibility, accountability, predictability, and repeatability.
  • Help ensure project decisions, approvals, risks, dependencies, and changes are appropriately documented and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.

Resource & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with functional managers to identify project resource needs, align resource assignments, sequence work, and balance project commitments with operational priorities.
  • Coordinate work across Help Desk, Network and Systems Operations including Cybersecurity, IT Controls, business teams, vendors, and other project participants.
  • Maintain visibility into cross-functional dependencies and help teams understand how changes in scope, timing, resources, or priorities may impact project delivery.
  • Facilitate conversations when competing priorities or resource constraints affect project commitments and elevate decisions to Enterprise Technology leadership when appropriate.
  • Respect functional ownership while providing the coordination, structure, and follow-through needed to move project work forward.
  • Work with external vendors and partners to coordinate deliverables, timelines, dependencies, meetings, and project commitments.

Project Visibility & Communication

  • Provide clear, consistent, and audience-appropriate project status reporting to stakeholders and Enterprise Technology leadership.
  • Maintain visibility into project health, schedules, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and resource constraints.
  • Surface project risks and decisions early enough for stakeholders and leadership to take meaningful action.
  • Help maintain visibility across active Enterprise Technology project work to support planning, prioritization, and capacity discussions.
  • Communicate changes in project scope, timing, assumptions, or dependencies and help stakeholders understand their potential impact.
  • Ensure project information is documented in established Enterprise Technology systems and remains current and accessible to the appropriate audiences.

Feedback Loops & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and maintain effective feedback loops with project stakeholders, functional managers, project teams, and Enterprise Technology leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Use stakeholder feedback to identify changing requirements, delivery concerns, communication gaps, and opportunities to improve project outcomes.
  • Facilitate project retrospectives and lessons-learned discussions following significant initiatives and project milestones.
  • Document lessons learned and partner with Enterprise Technology leadership, IT Controls, and functional managers to incorporate improvements into future project practices.
  • Identify recurring delivery challenges, dependencies, bottlenecks, and process gaps and recommend improvements to how Enterprise Technology manages project work.
  • Help create a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring project experiences and lessons are translated into better processes rather than remaining isolated to individual projects.

What We Need from Our IT Project Manager:

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to move multiple initiatives forward simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, functional managers, leadership, and external partners.
  • Ability to create structure and clarity around work that may initially be ambiguous or evolving.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business processes, technology workflows, requirements, and system dependencies.
  • Ability to identify risks, dependencies, competing priorities, and decisions that may affect project delivery.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive work through collaboration without relying on direct authority.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn how different areas of Enterprise Technology operate and how their work connects.
  • Ability to balance project needs with the operational responsibilities and priorities of functional teams.
  • Demonstrated follow-through, accountability, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Desire to improve processes and contribute to the continued maturity of project management practices within Enterprise Technology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and familiarity with project management, collaboration, or IT service management tools.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in technology project management, project coordination, systems analysis, technology operations, or a related role.
  • Experience coordinating projects or initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing or maintaining project plans, timelines, status reporting, risks, issues, dependencies, and project documentation.
  • Experience working with technical teams and developing an understanding of systems, workflows, requirements, or business processes.
  • Experience with project management methodologies, tools, or lifecycle practices preferred.
  • Experience working in a technology or IT operations environment preferred.
  • Project management certifications or relevant professional development are a plus but not required.
