The Culinary team creates the environment, food, and service support that enables players and Basketball Operations team members to perform at their best.

 

As a Culinary Prep & Utility team member, you will help ensure the Phoenix Suns culinary operations run smoothly, and at the highest standard. You will provide hands-on support with food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, dishwashing, stocking, and other day-to-day culinary needs while responding to the needs of players and team members. Reliability, cleanliness, responsiveness, attention to detail, discretion, and a team-first mentality are central to success in this role.

 

 

What You’ll Do

 

Culinary Operations & Kitchen Support

  • Assist with basic food preparation and support the culinary team during meal production and service.
  • Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment in accordance with food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Keep clean equipment and supplies available for the culinary team throughout service.
  • Clean and reset kitchen work areas after meals and complete scheduled deep cleaning.

 

Receiving, Stocking & Organization

  • Receive and put away food, beverages, kitchen supplies, and facility deliveries.
  • Store supplies properly in dry storage, refrigerators, the kitchen, and other designated areas.
  • Restock food service supplies, water, sports drinks, paper products, cleaning supplies, and other essentials.
  • Keep storage and service areas clean, organized, and accessible.
  • Monitor supplies and alert culinary or facilities leadership when items are running low.

 

Dining & Common-Area Support

  • Keep dining and food service areas clean and ready for use.
  • Clear and clean tables, and reset dining spaces between meals.
  • Remove trash and recycling and keep collection areas clean and organized.
  • Help maintain shared spaces throughout the facility.

 

Facility Maintenance & Support

  • Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility.
  • Clean and restock restrooms as assigned.
  • Report maintenance, sanitation, safety, or supply concerns promptly.
  • Help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for players, staff, and guests.

 

Safety & Standards

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Bring a dependable, professional, and service focused approach to every shift.
  • Assist with other related culinary and facility duties as needed.

  • Ability to follow directions, balance multiple tasks, and adjust to changing needs.

  • Clear communication and the ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently and ask questions when priorities are unclear.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the facility.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.

  • Evening, weekend, holiday, and postseason work as required by the NBA schedule.
