Your role as Executive Assistant to the President of Baseball Operations:
You will be responsible for providing high-level administrative and operational support to the President of Baseball Operations by managing calendars, travel, meetings and special events while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Provide direct administrative support to the President of Baseball Operations and other members of the senior Baseball Operations leadership group, including calendar management, travel coordination, tickets, and expense reporting
- Performs administrative duties involving independent judgment, initiative and tact for the President of Baseball Operations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Maintains department logistics (travel, lodging, food, etc.) for all San Diego-based meetings (including Draft, Trade Deadline), Major League & Major League Staff meetings, General Manager Meetings, Winter Meetings, and Spring Training
- Coordinate and schedule interviews for Baseball Operations candidates, including travel, hospitality arrangements, and logistical support
- Oversee the Baseball Ops Suite in partnership with the Executive Assistant to CEO
- Manage game tickets and giveaways for external stakeholders (affiliates, vendors, etc.)
- Provide logistical gameday support as needed, including nights and weekends
- Assist the Amateur Scouting Department in preparation for the Rule 4 Draft meetings in San Diego, Draft Combine, ect.
- Coordinate and manage all “Special” Events for the Department – GM For a Day Guests, Annual Nomo Project visit, Spring Training Family Day, All Star Watch Party, ect.
- Serve as a central resource for staff support, working cross-functionally to address internal requests and ensure they're directed to the appropriate departments
- Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President of Baseball Operations
- Develop innovative solutions for optimizing these applications and processes to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
- Proficient computer Proficiency in Slack and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Word. Experience in eBIS software a plus
- Strong collaboration, time management, and organizational skills.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism and accountability
You will be required to meet the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent,
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in administration (C suite a plus)
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Consistent, punctual and regular attendance
- Professional image and demeanor
- Strong ability to work with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
- Able to travel as needed
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Pay and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base hourly range for this full-time position is $30.00 to $33.00. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
