The Director of Military Affairs and CRM reports to the Senior Vice President of Community Engagement and advances the organization’s mission by leading strategic military outreach initiatives, managing community partnerships, and leveraging CRM systems to strengthen stakeholder engagement and program impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Military Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the club’s military outreach efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and all levels of military leadership, military support organizations, veterans’ groups, and military families to provide meaningful year-round programming.
- Continuously assess and evolve military and community initiatives to ensure measurable impact and alignment with stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with Major League Baseball and other league partners to implement league-wide community initiatives at the club level.

Community Relations & Outreach Leadership
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of community outreach strategies across key focus areas, including military engagement, youth baseball and softball, education, and other community impact initiatives.
- Engage new audiences through experiential marketing by creating, developing, and executing programs that extend the Washington Nationals brand while delivering value to corporate, community, and military partners.
- Support revenue-generating partnerships by designing and activating community outreach components of sponsorship agreements with local and national corporations.
- Serve as a primary representative of the organization within the community, building relationships with nonprofit organizations, schools, government agencies, military installations, and community leaders.
CRM & Stakeholder Management
- Oversee the department’s CRM platform and stakeholder database, ensuring accurate tracking, segmentation, reporting, and engagement management for community partners, donors, sponsors, military contacts, schools, and program participants.
- Develop processes and dashboards to measure outreach effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, program participation, and community impact.
- Utilize CRM insights and data analytics to identify growth opportunities, strengthen relationships, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage communication plans and stewardship strategies to maintain consistent engagement with key constituents and partners.
Program Operations & Administration
- Support department administration, budget management, reporting, and annual planning processes.
- Manage the Community Ticket Grant Program and other community benefit initiatives.
- Develop presentations, reports, and outreach materials to increase awareness, participation, and support from community and corporate partners.
- Represent Community Relations and Community Engagement interests with both internal and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor departmental interns and outreach staff.
- Foster a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on community impact, innovation, and relationship building.
- Support the Senior Vice President of Community Engagement in managing strategic relationships with community partners, sponsors, and key stakeholders.

Compensation:
The projected annual salary range for this position is $103,000 - $111,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.

- • Gameday:Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- • Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Position will require regular weekend and/or evening work. This position is full-time and is not eligible for remote work.

- • Experience in a management or supervisory role.
- • Demonstrated success in relationship building with military organizations, military and veteran service organizations, and other targeted constituents.
- • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in community programs, experiential marketing, and/or corporate philanthropy.
- • Must successfully clear a background check.
- • Must have U.S. work authorization.
