Job Summary:
Supporters and Fans are the heartbeat and lifeblood of the soccer matchday experience, and a pillar of what makes CITY different from other sports teams. The Coordinator, Grassroots Marketing & Fan Engagement will be a relationship builder, a liaison, and critical connection between St. Louis CITY SC and the St. Louis region.
This role will include organizing watch parties, fan events, supporting fan and supporter group engagement, and be a key player in grassroots marketing initiatives, including but not limited to: CITY SC Street Team, Club Marketing Campaigns, the CITY SC Kids Club, CITY2, and Supporter Operations and Administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Leads the administration and execution of the St. Louis CITY SC street team; including but not limited to, inventory, scheduling, conducting trainings, staff engagement, and recruitment.
- Oversees, and executes fan engagement events such as season kickoff events, watch parties and fan facing workshops.
- Cultivates unique and meaningful relationships between CITY SC and supporter/fan groups.
- Manage the day-to-day operations on match days for the supporter section, home and away.
- Maintains the highest level of customer service when representing the club in public and fan facing events.
- Oversees outside events on behalf of St. Louis CITY SC with the purpose of growing brand affinity and awareness. Directs the activities of the street team during these events.
- Collaborates across multiple departments to define, develop, and execute Grassroots Marketing activations.
- Travels with the Club or Supporter/Fan Groups to select away matches.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or related field a plus, but not required.
- 1-3 years of experience in Grassroots marketing, Sports Promotions, Activation Marketing, Fan Relations, Supporter Relations, Community Relations, or similar.
- Previous sports experience preferred but not required.
- Candidate must have a strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports
- Accurate, efficient, and timely execution of tasks and able to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes, and conflicts.
- Experience and Familiarity in Soccer / Supporter Group Culture, preferred but not required
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, events and holidays as required.
- Bilingual preferred but not required

- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to be both mobile and stationary at various points, throughout the workday.
- Push, pull, lift between 25-50 pounds.
- Significant time will be spent in athletic stadiums and facilities and at community events, along with a remote office, and a potential in-person (in-office) assignment.
