The Senior Manager, Retail Operations & Inventory is responsible for leading the operational infrastructure that enables San Diego FC Retail to successfully operate across storefronts, stadium locations, online, and events. This role reports into the VP, Licensing & Retail.

This role owns the systems, processes, inventory controls, facilities, logistics, and back-of-house operations required to ensure the retail organization is prepared to execute at a high level every day and on matchdays.

The position will serve as the operational backbone of the department, with direct responsibility for warehouse operations, inventory accuracy and controls, order fulfillment, standard operating procedures, fleet and vehicle maintenance, stadium conversions, retail equipment, product deployment, and matchday operational preparation.

The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized and hands-on retail operator who can create structure, enforce standards, solve problems, and continuously improve how the business operates.

This is a highly visible role that will work closely with the VP, Licensing & Retail and partner with Store Operations, Merchandising, Finance, IT, Operations, Human Resources, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Controls & Accuracy — Own end-to-end inventory accuracy across the warehouse and all retail locations, including cycle counts, shrink management, RFID tagging, and reconciliation processes.
  • Warehouse Operations — Manage day-to-day warehouse functions — receiving, put-away, pick/pack, and organization — for all retail product.
  • Fulfillment — Own order fulfillment for all digital transactions sourced from the warehouse, including pick/pack/notification timelines.
  • SOPs & Operating Standards — Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures for all back-of-house functions, and drive adoption and compliance across the team.
  • Stadium Conversions — Lead the physical conversion of stadium retail spaces between matchday and non-matchday configurations, including build-out and breakdown timelines and crews.
  • Matchday & Event Preparation — Ensure all retail locations, pop-ups, and portable stores are stocked, built out, and operationally ready ahead of every matchday and event.
  • Product Deployment & Replenishment — Manage the flow of product from warehouse to stores, replenishing locations on a cadence that matches sales velocity and the event schedule.
  • Retail Logistics — Own the transportation and movement of product and materials between the warehouse, stores, and event sites.
  • Fleet & Vehicle Maintenance — Manage the department's vehicle fleet, including scheduling maintenance and inspections and ensuring vehicles are event-ready.
  • Equipment & Asset Management — Track and maintain operational equipment and assets — fixtures, POS hardware, tools — including lifecycle planning and replacement.
  • Back-of-House Spaces & Organization — Own the layout, cleanliness, and organization of all back-of-house and storage spaces across retail locations.
  • Continuous Improvement — Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability as the retail footprint grows, serving as the operational backbone that lets the department scale.
  • Team Leadership — Lead, coach, and develop the Retail Operations team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and operating standards.
  • Planning & Accountability — Anticipate staffing, resource, equipment, and logistics needs while establishing KPIs and accountability across Retail Operations.

Qualifications
•     Minimum 7 years of retail leadership experience; experience in the professional sports or live events business preferred
•     Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
•     A leadership style rooted in trust, accountability, and care for the team — someone who develops people, not just processes
•     Experience leading and developing team leaders, supervisors, and associates
•     Experience managing warehouse, inventory, and fulfillment operations for high volume retailers
•     Experience managing logistics, venue conversions, fleet, and facilities functions
•     Comfort working event-based schedules on nights and weekends, including matchdays and activations
