ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Housekeeping Superintendent supports the Housekeeping Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day housekeeping and custodial operations at Subaru Park and other assigned Philadelphia Union facilities. This position helps ensure that the stadium and surrounding facilities consistently meet organizational standards for cleanliness, safety, presentation, and guest experience during daily operations, Philadelphia Union matches, special events, and private functions.
This is a supervisory position with direct shift-level responsibility for part-time, seasonal, temporary, and event-day housekeeping employees. Using independent judgment within established organizational policies and the operating plan established by the Housekeeping Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent determines shift deployment, assigns and responsibly directs work, adjusts personnel and priorities as conditions change, evaluates performance, addresses conduct and attendance concerns, and makes recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, discipline, suspension, and termination that are given meaningful consideration by management.
The Assistant Superintendent is accountable for the safety, conduct, productivity, work quality, and performance of employees assigned to the shift. Although the Assistant Superintendent may provide hands-on assistance when operationally necessary, the role remains responsible for exercising supervisory authority and directing assigned employees rather than functioning solely as a lead worker.

- Train and develop supervisors, leads, and housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, chemical handling, safety protocols, guest service, and departmental expectations.
- Manage daily housekeeping and custodial operations throughout Subaru Park and other assigned facilities, ensuring spaces are consistently clean, safe, sanitary, presentable, and event-ready.
- Oversee the cleanliness and presentation of restrooms, concourses, suites and premium areas, offices, locker rooms, event spaces, stairwells, elevators, loading areas, storage areas, exterior entrances, and other assigned spaces.

- Coordinate post-event cleaning operations to restore the facility efficiently and prepare it for the next scheduled activity.
- Serve as the on-duty housekeeping supervisor during assigned shifts, matches, and events and make timely operational decisions within the position's authority.
- Establish, communicate, and enforce consistent cleanliness, sanitation, presentation, and service standards.

- Investigate and document workplace incidents, employee injuries, equipment damage, safety violations, and service failures, and implement corrective measures within assigned authority.
- Inspect equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance, repair, replacement, or removal from service as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, uniforms, and departmental materials, and control unnecessary waste and expense.
- Maintain accurate schedules, timekeeping and attendance records, performance documentation, inspection reports, training records, safety documentation, equipment records, and supply inventories.
- Review payroll and timekeeping information for accuracy and address discrepancies within established procedures.
- Monitor vendor and contractor performance, direct corrective action when services do not meet expectations, and communicate significant concerns to department leadership.
- Prepare reports regarding staffing, labor utilization, facility conditions, supply needs, safety, and departmental performance.
