Examples of work performed:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for the Colorado Rapids and Colorado Mammoth, including monthly close, account analysis, and development and maintenance of accounting policies, controls and procedures.
- Own and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure issues are resolved timely.
- Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes for assigned entities, partnering with department heads and senior management to develop assumptions, analyze results and communicate risks and opportunities.
- Manage MLS and NLL league reporting, compliance submissions and related league communications, including player-related financial reporting and other recurring requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits and other agreed-upon procedures, serving as a primary finance contact and resolving accounting and reporting matters.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting for assigned entities, including consolidated financial reporting with DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results. Analyze and communicate budget-to-actual variances, forecasts, cash-flow considerations and other financial matters to Finance leadership and business partners.
- Support annual tax data gathering and other compliance requirements for outside tax preparers.
- Partner with Shared Services and other KSE finance teams on payroll, accounts payable, cash, intercompany activity, allocations and other processes to ensure complete and accurate financial information.
- Supervise, train and develop accounting staff, establishing clear ownership of recurring processes and maintaining a strong review and control environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes, controls and financial visibility, and lead additional ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience with month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis; prior supervisory or team-lead experience required.
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA, active progress toward CPA certification and/or MBA preferred. Sports, entertainment, venue or other deadline-driven operating experience is a plus.
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong systems aptitude with the ability to work across general ledger, budgeting/forecasting and operational data systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to move from detailed accounting support to management-level financial analysis.
- Strong general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple entities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- High attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of broader business and financial impacts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-finance business partners.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with department heads, senior management, league contacts and colleagues across KSE.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience improving reporting and financial processes preferred.
Compensation
- Base Salary Range $115,000 - $130,000 per annum
