Position Summary

The Area Scout – Dominican Republic identifies and evaluates top-tier baseball talent within the Dominican Republic, supporting the organization’s objective of building a strong and competitive team through comprehensive player assessments and recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee scouting coverage in the assigned region.
• Build and maintain relationships with trainers in the area.
• Execute the player evaluation process.
• Create and maintain player preference lists.
• Assist with player tryouts.
• Support cross-territory coverage within the Dominican Republic.
• Assist with the signing process for newly acquired players.
• Attend international scouting events as directed by the DR Supervisor.
• Evaluate player makeup through player visits and confirm beliefs through third-party sources.
• Responsibly manage expenses in compliance with department policies.
• Complete special assignment coverage as assigned by department leadership.
• Facilitate and support the data collection process in collaboration with Video Tech Scouts.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of baseball player and team evaluation and player development processes.
• Desire to learn new tools and methods of player evaluation.
• Understanding of analytical information and a willingness to use it in evaluating players.
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly confidential environment.
• Deep alignment with and promotion of the organization’s values and vision.
