About Boston Legacy FC

Boston Legacy FC (the "Club") is Boston's professional women's soccer team, competing in the National Women's Soccer League since our inaugural 2026 season. We are dedicated to building a championship-caliber organization on and off the pitch. We are passionate about advancing women's sports, investing in our local community, and redefining the future of professional soccer. As a club with a big vision, we're building something extraordinary from the ground up and looking for entrepreneurial team members who want to help shape what comes next.

The Role

The Team Security Manager is responsible for the welfare, physical protection, and security of Boston Legacy FC players, coaches, and team personnel. This role serves as the Club’s primary team security professional and provides security support across training, team travel, player appearances, home and away matches, and other Club activities.

The Team Security Manager will also serve as a key security resource as Boston Legacy FC expands its physical footprint. In partnership with the VP of Facilities and other Club leaders, this individual will help shape the security approach for the Club’s Performance Center in Brockton, including assessing vulnerabilities, advising on access and security protocols, and helping determine appropriate security staffing and coverage. The role may also provide security expertise as the Club plans for future facilities, including White Stadium.

This position requires strong judgment, discretion, professionalism, and the ability to operate collaboratively within different security environments. During matches and events, the Team Security Manager will focus on the security of Boston Legacy FC players and team personnel while operating within the venue’s established security plan and chain of command.

Key Responsibilities

Player & Team Security

  • Provide security and protective support for players, coaches, and team personnel during training sessions, player appearances, community and commercial events, home and away matches, and other Club activities.
  • Conduct advance planning and risk assessments for team activities and player appearances, including safe arrival, movement, and departure.
  • Serve as the primary security point of contact for Soccer Operations and advise Club leadership on emerging risks or security concerns.
  • Balance player, staff, and representative requests with established safety and security protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies, support de-escalation when appropriate, and coordinate with medical personnel, law enforcement, or other emergency resources as needed.

Team Travel & Away Matches

  • Lead security planning and coordination for team travel, including airports, hotels, ground transportation, training locations, and away venues.
  • Conduct protective advance planning and vulnerability assessments for travel, lodging, and competition environments.
  • Coordinate with opposing club security, venue security, league security, transportation providers, airports, hotels, and local law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Support safe and efficient team movement through airports, hotels, stadiums, and other team environments.

Home Matches & Venue Coordination

  • Serve as the primary team-security liaison with the security leadership at each home venue.
  • Prior to each match, coordinate with venue security to understand the venue security plan, areas of responsibility, communication protocols, emergency procedures, and established chain of command.
  • On matchdays, focus on the safety and security of Boston Legacy FC players, coaches, and team personnel while operating within and supporting the venue’s established security structure.
  • Follow the venue-designated security chain of command for venue-wide security matters and work in close coordination with the individual responsible for overall event security.
  • Communicate team-specific risks, concerns, or needs to venue security leadership and escalate issues through the established matchday security structure.
  • Coordinate responsibilities related to team arrival/departure, locker rooms, tunnels, field access, family/guest areas, and other team-controlled or team-sensitive spaces.

Performance Center & Facility Security

  • Partner with the VP of Facilities to help develop and continually assess the security approach for Boston Legacy FC’s Performance Center in Brockton.
  • Conduct security and vulnerability assessments of the facility and surrounding environment and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Advise on access points, credentialing and access control, player and staff ingress/egress, visitor management, deliveries, parking, and other areas that affect the security of the team and facility.
  • Help identify appropriate security staffing levels, posts, schedules, and operating procedures for the Performance Center, in partnership with Facilities.
  • Support the development of emergency response, incident escalation, and communication protocols for the facility.
  • Build relationships with Brockton-area law enforcement, emergency services, and other relevant security partners.
  • Serve as a security advisor to the VP of Facilities and Club leadership on future facility projects, including planning related to White Stadium, as requested.
  • Identify and communicate potential vulnerabilities early enough that they can be addressed through facility design, technology, staffing, or operating procedures.

Other Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement, emergency services, NWSL security personnel, opposing club security, and venue security partners.
  • Represent the club in NWSL’s monthly security meeting and review major takeaways with Director of Soccer Operations. Determine any changes to existing approaches.
  • Research, document, and communicate vulnerabilities and emerging safety concerns to appropriate Club leadership.
  • Complete incident reports, suspicious activity reports, and other security documentation to support historical tracking, follow-up, and continuous improvement.
