POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager of Sponsorship Activation will lead the strategy, management, and execution of contractual sponsorship assets for a portfolio of high-value Dallas Mavericks corporate partners. This role will collaborate with partners and internal teams to deliver innovative activations, strengthen relationships, and drive incremental revenue through upsells and renewals while upholding the Dallas Mavericks brand and core values.
The Senior Manager will also lead and develop a Sponsorship Activation Coordinator and oversee large-scale, cross-functional projects that advance departmental objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate success in relationship management, team development, creative problem-solving, reporting, inventory management, and delivering complex sponsorship assets that generate measurable value and new revenue opportunities.
JOB FUNCTION:
- Execution and Implementation of Sponsorship Assets and Deliverables.
- Understand the business goals and objectives of assigned clients and strategically provide solutions and recommendations to grow their business and connect their brands with the Dallas Mavericks fan base.
- ·Serve as the main point of contact and work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure an elevated level of execution, customer service, and fulfillment of all deliverables within budget parameters.
- ·Ensure the timely and effective delivery of all contractual assets while monitoring asset performance and adjusting strategies as needed to achieve partner goals.
- Revenue Generation and Inventory Ideation:
- Identify, present, and sell new activation ideas to drive upsell revenue by utilizing internal resources and sales tactics.
- Develop and present compelling case studies and performance reports to reinforce ROI and secure long-term commitments.
- Spearhead renewal strategies for assigned corporate partners by aligning performance with partner objectives and KPIs.
- Negotiate renewal agreements in collaboration with leadership and legal teams.
- Sponsor Communication and Relationships:
- Build strong relationships with sponsors through the successful execution of contractual assets.
- Identify synergies between organizational priorities, initiatives, and corporate sponsor objectives.
- Provide regular and consistent communication including recaps, reporting, and proof of performance updates.
- Plan and execute events, promotions, sweepstakes, and VIP experiences.
- Sales Integration and CRM Oversight
- Maintain accountability for CRM and inventory management systems.
- Review deal sheets for structural accuracy, asset availability, and execution feasibility prior to finalization.
- Support departmental revenue reporting and league submissions.
- Team Collaboration & Coordination:
- Supervise and mentor one Coordinator, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks and professional development through one-on-ones, performance feedback, and development planning.
- Serve as a real-time resource to troubleshoot challenges, support execution, and elevate team performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Partnership Solutions and Marketing, to enhance partnership strategies.
- Contribute to team brainstorming sessions, offering innovative ideas and solutions for partner activations.

- Proven experience building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Sport Marketing/Advertising/Business/Marketing ideal)
- 5 to 7 years of corporate sponsorship sales and/or account management experience, preferably within the sports industry.
- Experience managing relationships with sponsors, agency contacts, and other key stakeholders.
- Leadership: Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members is a plus.
- Experience in stadiums/arenas or high-volume special events is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Experience with the following platforms categories is preferred:
- CRM or inventory management software such as KORE or Salesforce.
- Project management software such as Asana.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work home games and events as necessary – including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
