POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Coordinator, People & Culture provides strategic and operational support to the People & Culture team, with a primary focus on employee engagement, culture, wellness, internal communications, events, and employee experience initiatives. This role serves as a key partner to the Senior Manager, Employee Engagement and is responsible for coordinating and executing programs that foster an engaged, connected, and high-performing workplace.
The Senior Coordinator will take ownership of assigned People & Culture programs and projects from planning through execution and evaluation, while serving as a trusted resource to employees and cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, resourceful, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences.
JOB FUNCTION
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Support the development, coordination, and execution of employee engagement initiatives, programs, and experiences that strengthen organizational culture and employee connection.
  • Take ownership of assigned employee engagement programs and initiatives, ensuring timelines, communications, logistics, and follow-up are effectively managed.
  • Support employee recognition initiatives and programs designed to celebrate employee contributions, milestones, and achievements.
  • Coordinate culture-focused initiatives, employee appreciation opportunities, team-building activities, and other programs that enhance the employee experience.
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing employee feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Employee Experience & Onboarding
  • Support the development and execution of onboarding programs, ensuring new employees have a welcoming, organized, and engaging experience.
  • Coordinate onboarding communications, materials, resources, and employee experience touchpoints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee processes, resources, and experiences.
Internal Communications
  • Support the execution of internal communications related to employee engagement, People & Culture programs, events, wellness initiatives, recognition, and organizational announcements.
  • Develop and coordinate communications across appropriate internal channels, including email, Microsoft Teams, digital signage, and other communication platforms.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized People & Culture communications calendar.
  • Ensure communications are timely, engaging, accurate, and aligned with organizational messaging and culture.
Employee Events & Experiences
  • Coordinate and execute employee events, activities, celebrations, wellness experiences, and other internal programs.
  • Assist with event logistics including catering, venues, décor, vendors, registration, supplies, AV, entertainment, gifting, transportation, and other event needs.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure successful event execution.
  • Maintain event timelines, project plans, calendars, and other organizational tools.
  • Support event-day execution and provide a high level of service to employees and stakeholders.
  • Assist with identifying new and creative employee experience opportunities and trends.
Wellness & People Programs
  • Support the coordination and execution of the Mavs Vitality Program and other employee wellness initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of wellness programming and communications across the organization.
  • Coordinate wellness events, educational opportunities, challenges, and employee resources.
Project Management & Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate records, calendars, program materials, and employee engagement resources.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Senior Manager, Employee Engagement and other People & Culture leaders as needed.
  • Partner cross-functionally with departments throughout the organization to execute People & Culture initiatives.
  • Assist with tracking participation, engagement, expenses, and other program metrics.
  • Recommend process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and employee impact.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Ability to analyze employee feedback and program data and use insights to recommend improvements.
  • Creative and resourceful approach to developing engaging employee experiences and programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also independently owning assigned projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Forms, Teams, Canva, and other relevant workplace technology and communication platforms.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in employee engagement, People & Culture, human resources, internal communications, events, employee experience, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience coordinating employee engagement programs, events, wellness initiatives, or organizational culture initiatives.
  • Experience managing projects, vendors, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional stakeholders.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Standard office environment with occasional travel for training, events, or organizational activities.
  • Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak periods or for special events as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented professional sports environment.
