Seasonal Digital Content Assistant

Pay Details:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.

This is a part-time position focused on supporting the Publications & Digital Content team, primarily on game nights. This role reports to the Director of Publications & Digital Content and assists with the day-to-day management and execution of content across the team website, mobile app, social media, and game-day publications. This individual must be able to balance multiple priorities and support the delivery of engaging content across key fan communication channels.

Responsibilities

  • Help create, edit, schedule, and publish website content, including articles, game previews and recaps, photos, videos, and landing pages

  • Maintain and update the website during game days, including publishing game previews, linking to the NHL GameCenter experience during and after games, posting highlights to the home page, and updating other home page features

  • Write headlines and subheadlines for games, news, and other features that appropriately reflect the voice and tone of the team

  • Develop familiarity with the CMS used for the Honda Center + Ducks mobile app and update content on a regular basis

  • Assist with scheduling push notifications from the mobile app

  • Assist with posting social media content when necessary, notably on Instagram Stories and YouTube

  • Assist with coverage of games, practices, morning skates, and community events when scheduled

  • Assist with quality assurance across digital content platforms

  • Support other departments with related work as requested

Qualifications

  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in sports, media, and/or digital content

  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) used to manage websites

  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, notably Photoshop, Premiere, and Acrobat, is a plus

  • Knowledge of Ducks hockey, including current players and team history, is a plus

  • Understanding of sports and live-event coverage workflows

  • Photo, video, and graphic editing skills are a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as website management skills

  • Excellent time management and planning skills

  • Must be self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability to organize and schedule work effectively to meet deadlines

  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to write headlines and descriptions for games while appropriately capturing the voice of a team-run website

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, both verbally and in writing

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, events, and games as needed
