Position Summary/Objective:

As a member of the Promo Crew, you'll play a key role in bringing the excitement of professional basketball to life by creating unforgettable moments for thousands of fans at Casey's Center.

From pre-game giveaways and t-shirt tosses to on-court contests and fan interactions, you'll help drive the energy inside the arena and ensure every Iowa Wolves game delivers an exceptional fan experience. This position offers hands-on experience in sports entertainment, live event production, fan engagement, and game presentation, making it an excellent opportunity for students and aspiring sports industry professionals.

This is a part-time, seasonal position to last through the regular season and any potential playoffs. Must be available to work all Iowa Wolves home games during the 2026-27 season, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential playoff games.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a fan-facing ambassador of the Iowa Wolves, helping create fun, engaging, and memorable experiences at home games and select special events.
  • Bring in-game promotions and activations to life through energy, enthusiasm, and exceptional execution.
  • Organize, maintain, and prepare promotional items for game-day use and distribution.
  • Select contestants, retrieve props, and assist with activations in the concourse, seating bowl, and on the court.
  • Interact with fans throughout games, enhancing their experience and creating lasting memories.
  • Assist in directing the Host, Mobile Camera Operators, fellow Promo Crew members, and mascot Alpha to activation locations throughout events.
  • Collaborate with the Community, Fan Experience & Programming Specialist to execute promotional elements, sponsorship activations, and select special events.
  • Engage with members at Alpha's Pup Playground during games while helping maintain a fun, welcoming, and safe environment.
  • Support and maintain the Fan Services table, serving as a knowledgeable resource for fans and guests.
  • Participate in game-day production meetings and maintain clear headset communication throughout events.
  • Assist with game-day setup, preparation, teardown, and other operational needs as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential playoff games.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude with a strong desire to engage and interact with fans.
  • Ability to follow direction and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with fans and large groups in a public setting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality throughout the season.
  • Availability for all Iowa Wolves home games is strongly preferred.

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

Experience: Previous experience in live event management, production, and execution preferred.

Education: High school diploma required; coursework or experience in sports management, communications, marketing, event management, hospitality, theater, or related field is a plus.

Travel: None

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibility 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during games and events.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to see, hear, and respond quickly in an active live-event environment.
