Position Summary/Objective:
This Social Media & Graphic Associate will play a role in creating visually compelling, social-first content that brings the brand to life across Timberwolves digital platforms. In addition, this person will also assist the Timberwolves’ social media team with capturing content on gamedays to implement the organization’s social media strategies and objectives, on a game-to-game basis. This will be a seasonal part-time position to last through the regular NBA season and potential playoffs.

Expected availability is for all home and away Timberwolves games (no travel required). Some office hours will be required.

What would you do?

  • Create high-quality, social-first graphics for Instagram, X, Facebook and other Timberwolves social media accounts.
  • Develop real-time graphics around games, player milestones, statistics, celebrations and other timely moments.
  • Design original content that drives engagement, conversation and brand awareness.
  • Ideate, shoot and edit vertical videos on game days for social media platforms, including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
  • Live reporting during home and away games, events and player appearances as assigned.
  •  Demonstrate strong creative thinking skills with the ability to analyze current platform trends and develop innovative storytelling approaches.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

  •  1-3 years of experience in graphic design, social media, sports, entertainment, marketing, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator. Experience with other motion-designed tools is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is required.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to take feedback, iterate quickly, and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Compensation And Benefits:

  • This is an hourly position paid on a semi-monthly cycle at a rate of $17.00 per hour.
  • Additional perks include free parking in the Hawthorne ramp and free meals before home games.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have a supervisory responsibility.

Travel: Position does not require travel.

Additional Information:

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Game night shifts are usually 4 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for a 7:00pm CT tip-off. Staff may be asked to work external events including but not limited to: player or community appearances, or charity and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps.

Physical Demands
Work is generally sedentary in nature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment. Staff will occasionally ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff will frequently move boxes of merchandise and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
