Part-Time English/Cultural Teacher

Job Description:

The Chicago White Sox are seeking a part-time English and Cultural Teacher to support the language development and the cultural adjustment of professional baseball players in a Minor League Baseball environment. The ideal candidate combines English language instruction, cultural guidance, and baseball-related learning to help international players succeed both on and off the field.

 This position is based in Winston Salem, NC. Any applicants must be available to teach in person at the Winston Salem Facility.

Responsibilities:

•  Teach in-person English classes to professional baseball players at varying proficiency levels
• Support players’ understanding of S. culture and daily-life communication
• Design and adapt lessons that integrate education, culture, and baseball-specific language

Required Qualifications:

•  Must be able to work in-person at the Winston-Salem facility
• Experience teaching ESOL
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Flexibility with scheduling around practices and games

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Experience working with athletes or multicultural populations
• Familiarity with baseball terminology or professional sports environments
• Teaching certification or ESL endorsement
• Functional knowledge of the game of baseball and general rules
