The Opportunity
The Manager, Group Sales works closely with the Sr. Director, Sales & Service in the implementation of tactical and operational plans to achieve targeted levels of revenue, cross selling and customer retention. The Manager, Group Sales assumes a hands-on role in the management of the assigned sales team. This position is directly responsible for his/her sales team of Account Executives. The secondary role of this position is the development and implementation of a Group Sales program for other FedExForum events.
In This Role You Will
- Manages a team of Account Executives by directing sales activities, setting and reviewing sales targets, coaching, mentoring, recruiting and training.
- Through the Sales Team, executes effective corporate and non-corporate sales calls and presentations promoting the purchase of Grizzlies ticket products to meet established sales objectives.
- Through the Sales Team, develops and executes all elements of a group sales program.
- Identifies key partnerships within the community to develop group sales initiatives.
- Work with TicketMaster, Fevo and other third party vendors to establish an integrated online approach for group sales.
- Identifies business opportunities by establishing professional and personal networks, and proactively soliciting and following-up on any sales leads.
- Contributes to corporate business objectives by collecting and forwarding any sponsorship, advertising, team promotions, and suite leads to department management. Works with clients and recommend solutions to their needs.
- Provides reporting information by maintaining and regularly producing accurate reports regarding sales, calls, appointments, and account maintenance.
- Upholds the sales and service mandates of the department by working in conjunction with the entire Customer Sales & Service team.
- Works with supervisors to develop sales bonus and commission structure.
- Other related duties as assigned.
The Experience You Will Bring
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least five years sales or sales management experience at a senior level including experience leading, coaching, mentoring and motivating sales and service people.
- Experience in the development of a group sales program.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Assertive, confident, persistent, and results-oriented approach to selling and sales management.
- Solid time management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.
Preferred:
- A working knowledge of contact management systems and ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of and a passion for professional basketball.
