Job Title: Manager, Business Solutions

Department: Global Partnerships

Reports to: Director, Business Solutions

Position Summary: The Manager, Business Solutions will be an integral member of the LA Lakers Global Partnership team in developing proposals supporting both the Partnership Sales team to drive partner acquisition and current partner growth. A core competency is building compelling, insights-driven narratives that reflect strong cross-functional alignment, ensuring concepts are supported before being pitched externally. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who is both a creative storyteller and an analytical thinker. 

Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):

  • Ideate and develop data-driven proposals, platforms, recap templates, and case studies that communicate the value of the Lakers brand and address partnership KPIs 
  • Leverage both internal and third-party data sources to assist Partnership Sales and Activation team and in developing, implementing, and maintaining a data-driven strategy, highlighting the distinctive sponsorship value of the Los Angeles Lakers brand 
  • Research prospective partners, industries, competitive landscapes, consumer behavior, and sponsorship trends to uncover new revenue opportunities.
  • Organize and participate in cross-functional meetings with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Community, Social, etc.) to help create compelling partner concepts that are executable and aligned with the organization’s philosophy and standards 
  • Articulate and present integrated sponsorship presentations to internal decision-makers
  • Work with internal creative team to maintain brand standard and develop compelling visual storytelling within partnership proposals 
  • Leverage CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce/KORE) to assist sales with inventory insights, inventory tracking, and partner record management 
  • Support sponsorship valuation by analyzing market benchmarks, media exposure, fan data, inventory performance, and historical partnership results
  • Prepare competitive intelligence reports, league benchmarking analyses, and category insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor NBA and overall sports marketplace trends to identify opportunities for new sales prospecting and outreach

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or related field 

Previous Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years of full-time work experience in partnership strategy, integrated marketing, business development, sponsorship sales or activation, preferably at a team or agency

Technology Capabilities: CRM (e.g., Salesforce/KORE), Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Tableau

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Results oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with a passion for problem-solving and willingness to learn
  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload, and own deliverables from start to finish.
  • Strategic and critical thinker with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in receiving brand objectives/KPIs and developing compelling and impactful integrated marketing partnership presentations
  • Working knowledge of third-party research and data sources to create data-backed sales narratives
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative tools, and Tableau
  • Familiarity with the Los Angeles Lakers and/or sports industry preferred
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Possess strong technical, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, urgent project environment

Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and walk significant distances in the arena on game day

Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com Area for select Lakers home games), and other off-site client meetings

Travel: Up to 5% of the time for league meetings, conferences and pre-season games

Hours: Regular office hours M-F plus nights & weekends for game/client events

The pay range for this role is $72,500 - $82,500 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications. In addition to those factors, we consider the relative pay of our current employees in similar positions when making a final offer.
