Instructor, Softball

Major League Baseball is looking for a Softball Instructor in the MLB Youth Academy to assist in all activities relating to softball instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and implementation of all softball instruction including workouts, camps, clinics, gameplay, etc
• Assist the Coordinator, Softball Instruction in selecting players for select teams, showcases, camps, etc
• Help to coordinate all softball activities and organize schedules for softball instruction
• Help to coordinate, facilitate and organize all softball workouts, camps and clinics
• Coach Academy softball teams in workouts and gameplay as necessary
• Submit reports to the Coordinator, Softball Instruction as deemed necessary
• Perform assigned tasks for special events and programs as directed by Softball Coordinator or Academy Director

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience as a player, coach or instructor
• Organized, efficient and consistent positive communication skills
• Team player ready to take direction
• Solid organizational and scheduling skills
• Possess the ability to organize softball workouts and gameplay
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and computer scheduling programs
• Able to instruct all facets of softball
• Ability to travel (25% local overnight travel expected around All-Star and Spring Break events)

Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
