Reports to: Director of Ticket Sales
Status: Full-Time, Entry-Level Sales Development Program (12 Months)
Overview
The Pittsburgh Penguins are seeking a driven, positive, passionate, and highly energetic Inside Sales Representative to join a comprehensive sales development program designed to prepare participants for long-term careers in sports sales.
This 12-month program provides in-depth training, mentorship, and professional development while generating revenue across ticketing platforms, including season ticket memberships, premium hospitality, and group ticket packages. The role offers potential promotional opportunities into a full-time sales position and is ideal for recent or upcoming college graduates looking to launch a career in the sports industry.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Meet or exceed daily outbound sales activity goals, including 100+ outbound calls per day through assigned leads and campaigns.
- Conduct 3–5 face-to-face sales appointments each week with prospective clients.
- Sell full-season memberships, partial season ticket plans, group ticket packages, and additional ticket offerings for concerts and events at PPG Paints Arena.
- Consistently achieve weekly and monthly sales goals.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective and current ticket members.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect records within the organization's CRM system.
- Provide exceptional customer service while representing the Pittsburgh Penguins brand.
- Assist with customer service initiatives and account support as needed.
Game Day & Event Support
- Support home games, weekends, concerts, and special events through client visits, sales tables, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Assist with Select-A-Seat events and additional ticket sales initiatives.
- Participate in non-traditional work hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and Penguins home games.
Training & Professional Development
- Attend weekly and monthly sales training sessions, role-playing exercises, and professional development meetings.
- Apply coaching and feedback to continuously improve sales performance.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Ticket Sales leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a coachable mindset.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present ideas.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, Penguins home games, and arena events.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, fundraising, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role.
- Passion for sports, live entertainment, and delivering exceptional fan experiences.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through internships, campus organizations, athletics, or professional work.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or ticketing platforms is a plus.
