Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of mechanical, environmental controls, and life safety systems throughout Comerica Park.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
Ensures proper operation of systems in compliance with required regulation and codes.
Tests, maintains and evaluates equipment by using instrumentation.
Tests and calibrates electronic HVAC and building automation controls ensuring equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.
Performs as required, skilled maintenance activities to include but not limited to brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
Inspects and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors ensuring proper operation of the facility equipment and systems.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with work standards.
Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards of business ethics and conduct.
Strong understanding and knowledge of BAS systems.
Experience with fire alarm and suppression systems.
Strong electrical background to diagnose and repair control voltage to high voltage equipment (24v – 480v 3 phase).
Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
Willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Technical Schooling, Associates or equivalent experience required.
Two years’ experience is required.
CFC certification required.
Level 3 refrigerant license preferred.
Ability to use computers using the window based software environment.
Must be able to be on call and to work any shift, weekends and holidays if necessary.
Working Conditions:
Outdoors and office environment.
Position will need to work in various weather conditions.
Position will be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move with large bulking items.
Ability to walk, sit, climb, crawl, kneel, squat, bend, and extend arms and legs fully.
Ability to use hands to manipulate and effectively use tools and controls.
Ability to climb to high locations around the ballpark.
