Summary:

Reporting to Producer (Sabres Live), the Broadcast Production intern will assist with daily preproduction, studio production and postproduction for Sabres Live and assist Sabres game broadcast team as needed. The Broadcast Intern is part of a support staff for all broadcast-related activities within the company, and will have a focus on studio work, editing, assisting with feature content shoots, logging video but will help with various needs throughout the digital space.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in producing daily Sabres Live: preparing for topics, news and notes, highlights.
  • Edit video as assigned for Sabres Live and Sabres game broadcast.
  • Work in studio for Sabres Live, Sabres game night productions.
  • Assist in operating the Sabres Live content management system by posting content (articles, videos, photos, etc.), editing graphics for Sabres Live using Xpression.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure objectives are met.
  • Stay up to date on current trends and best practices.
  • Consistently review the content and services being provided on and provide recommendations that would support our mission.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. 
  • Other duties as required.

 Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

  • Pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate's degree with equivalent experience.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video.
  • Experience in a studio setting, including audio and graphics.
  • Strong knowledge of hockey and the NHL as well as lacrosse and the NLL. Experience working in sports is preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software.

  • General knowledge of Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere.

Compensation:

This role pays $16.00 an hour.  This is a part-time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.  This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This internship operations in both an office setting and in a live events setting.  Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds. 

While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, run, reach, kneel, and crouch.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.  Candidate must be able to operate, transport and manipulate camera equipment up to 50 pounds.
