Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach - WCK - Temp

Who are we hiring

Under the mentorship of Head Performance Coach for the Westchester Knicks, Seasonal Assistant Performance Coach will work 30-40 hours a week and will support the administration of strength and conditioning programs for players. The focus of this role is to develop as a strength and conditioning coach, as well as gain an understanding of multiple roles involved in a sports medicine and performance program.

In collaboration with other members of the team, they will play a role in assessing, profiling, and programming for platers. They can perform in a high-performance environment and are current in their knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, exercises science, and kinesiology. Experience with standard methodologies, application, and sport science are preferred.

What will you do? 

• Assist in all phases of performance/development under the direction of the Head Performance Coach.
• Maintain weight room cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
• Assist in training Westchester Knicks players.
• Comply with all G League standard protocols, including HIPAA standard for confidentiality regarding all matters pertaining to players and the organization.
• Provide high quality, professional, and detailed service across all aspects of their responsibilities.
• Attend and work all WCK home games.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.  

What do you need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or similar field.
• Previous experience as a strength and conditioning coach.
• CSCS and CPR/AED Certified.
• Computer skills (MS office), general data entry. Experience with sport science software preferred.
• Positive, "Can Do" attitude, ability work well in strong partnership with your team, solution and results oriented and demonstrate the ability to be strong critical thinker.  

Special Requirements

• Must be flexible to work non-traditonal hours (nights, weekends, holidays) and able to travel with the team.
• Ability to move heavy objects ( 50Lbs+)
• Strong effective communicator (verbal and written) 
• Strong computer knowledge and skills
