ABOUT US
The North Carolina Courage, a member of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), is seeking an Information Technology Intern to join our team for 2027 season apart of the ROAR Internship Program.  ROAR is designed to be a developmental experience, preparing interns for potential full-time roles within the club or the broader sports industry. 
  • Provide real opportunities to contribute to impactful organizational work, drive revenue and get real world experience within the professional sports industry. 
  • Support advancement through mentorship, workshops, professional exposure, networking events, and team building activities. 
  • Build readiness through tangible deliverables and portfolio quality projects  
ROAR Program Overview:
The 2027 ROAR internship program will run alongside the NC Courage and NWSL season.  The program will run from February 2027 – November 2027, including the summer/World Cup Break.  Interns will work Monday – Friday, along with occasional evening & weekend events, and Matchday Operations. This program is built for someone who wants more than exposure - it’s for those who want responsibility, real experience, and the opportunity to learn how a world-class women’s soccer club operates behind the scenes.
  • Assist with day-to-day departmental tasks and projects.
  • Conduct research and analyze data.
  • Prepare reports and presentations.
  • Participate in department/team meetings and planning sessions.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
INTERNS WILL WORK ON-SITE IN OUR FRONT OFFICE IN RALEIGH NC

 About the Role 
The Information Technology Intern will support day-to-day operations and special projects within the Courage Front Office, contributing directly to the success of the Club throughout the season. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and best suited for someone who is curious, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. 
Interns are expected to bring a strong work ethic, a growth mindset, and a willingness to learn quickly while operating with professionalism and accountability. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with IT Team to validate infrastructure configurations and support debugging and quality improvements.
  • Contribute to process optimization by promoting standardized environments to enhance engineering productivity and reduce rework 
  • Strong interest in enterprise analytics, applied AI, and using data to drive operational decision-making 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance self-service workflows and streamline the end-user support experience 
  • Help track project milestones, risks, and dependencies across enterprise systems and technology programs. 
  • Participate in project meetings and support communication between technology, business, and operational stakeholders.
 Internship Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.  (For post-grad internships, must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field) 
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNCs, DHCP, firewalls). 
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to break down complex, loosely defined problems
  • Strong interest in professional sports, particularly women's soccer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Experience (Not Required) 
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet or Asana is a plus. 
  • Interest in technology project management, enterprise systems, venue technology or IT program management. 
  • Entry-level certifications (ex. CompTIA Security+, Network+) are a plus but not required.
