Summary:

The Jr. Celtics Academy is the official youth basketball platform of the 18-Time World Champion Boston Celtics, which is dedicated to improving positive youth development in the community through highly engaging basketball programs teaching the standards of Celtics basketball to kids, coaches, referees, and parents. 

In partnership with New Balance, the Boston Celtics are seeking a passionate and energetic professional to join our Jr. Celtics Academy team. This full-time role will help deliver high-quality basketball programming, community engagement initiatives, and memorable youth sports experiences that put young people first while teaching the game the Celtics Way.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Youth Basketball Development, this individual will play a key role in the planning and execution of Jr. Celtics Academy leagues, camps, clinics, events, and partnerships, while serving as a trusted ambassador of the Celtics brand. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is committed to creating positive, inclusive experiences for players and families throughout New England.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the planning, execution, and ongoing management of at least one Jr. Celtics Academy (JCA) program (Leagues, Camps, All-Girls initiatives, etc.), including oversight of associated corporate partnerships.
• Develop expertise in the JCA Analytics Dashboard to evaluate program performance, identify trends, and inform data-driven recommendations for future initiatives.
• Execute grassroots marketing efforts, including community outreach events and management of the JCA Kids Zone at TD Garden.
• Support the development and execution of JCA Theme Nights and other in-arena fan engagement experiences.
• Partner with the Celtics Operations Team to coordinate and manage the technical and operational aspects of JCA programming.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service inquiries and communications across all JCA platforms, including:
  • JCA email inboxes and phone lines
  • LeagueApps registration and communication tools
  • JCA Facebook Group
  • JCA LinkedIn Group
• Deliver a high level of service to participants, families, and community partners by ensuring timely, professional, and effective communication across all channels.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in youth development, basketball coaching, sports programming, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example through a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
• Passion for creating an energetic, inclusive, and supportive environment both on and off the court, with the ability to connect effectively with participants of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
• Strong commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and welcoming experience for all participants, families, and community partners.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, coupled with a friendly, approachable, and team-oriented demeanor.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday/school break periods, as well as travel regionally as needed.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

The expected range of annual salary/hourly rate and potential commission, if applicable, is included below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate Range: $24.52 - $25.96
