We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be part of the Edge Computing team in the Data&AI group. As we deliver real-time player tracking, sport analytics and broadcast augmentation to customers worldwide, we are looking to increase our capabilities for capturing video and running computer vision algorithms at the edge. This role focuses on the Capture system, which consists of an iOS application running on iPhone-based cameras in sport venues, and the backend web services that support this fleet.
Specifically, you can expect to:
Design and code backend services and iOS camera application capabilities that support the Capture platform across sport venues worldwide
Design and code end-to-end processes enabling operational staff to autonomously deploy, monitor and diagnose capture devices and services
Take ownership of long-term technical efforts and articulate design choices to technical and non-technical people
Collaborate closely with teammates to solve problems, share knowledge and provide actionable feedback
Participate in an on-call rotation that emphasizes eliminating repeating escalations
Visit our wonderful Lausanne Jordils office 4 times per week, with flexible hours
Swiss/EU/EFTA citizen or residency permit in Switzerland
5+ years experience as a backend or software engineer
Proficient with at least one programming language among Rust, Swift and Go
Strong experience designing, implementing and operating complex HTTP and WebSocket services at scale
Strong experience with concurrent programming
Ability to communicate efficiently and articulate concepts based on the audience
Experience with video systems, including the FFmpeg library API, video compression and streaming concepts
Experience with machine learning systems, including CNN architecture and inference
Experience with GPU computing, such as writing shaders
Experience with iOS camera APIs and capture-oriented iOS application development
Experience with the lifecycle and management of backwards-compatible applications deployed to a large fleet of edge devices
Experience building systems that remain reliable when deployed outside of easy physical access
Languages and frameworks: Rust, Swift, C++, Go
Edge Devices: iOS, Apple CoreML, Apple Metal
Backend: Tokio, Axum, Tonic, PostgreSQL, Redis, FFmpeg
Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS Cloud

The base salary range for this role is CHF 140,000 - CHF 155,000. There are a number of factors which affect what the specific pay for this role is, including seniority and relevant educational and working experience.
