The Opportunity
As the Sr. Data Project Manager, you will set direction across multiple Data & BI Operations products, operational domains, and portfolios. You will lead the most ambiguous and cross-cutting initiatives, establish scalable standards and operating models, and multiply the effectiveness of teams and partners
without direct people-management responsibility.
The role will require enterprise-level perspective and sustained ownership across complex, interdependent work. You will anticipate business, technical, operational, regulatory, and organizational impacts; shape priorities and major trade-offs; and partner with senior and executive stakeholders
across IT, Gaming, Sports, Operations, Risk, Finance, and other business domains. The role will be part of the Data & BI Operations organization and will set the bar for delivery and operational excellence across reporting, dashboards, analytics, predictive modelling, semantic and analytical data products, data warehouses, data platforms, governance, and related capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Owns portfolio governance across multiple Data & BI Operations products and domains, ensuring investment recommendations, prioritization decisions, dependencies, capacity, and resources align to organizational strategy and measurable business outcomes
- Frames the most complex and cross-cutting business and technical problems; reframes issues when needed to ensure teams solve the right problem and address downstream impacts and edge cases
- Creates and institutionalizes discovery, requirements, prioritization, delivery, governance, documentation, and intake standards that become the operating model used across Data & BI Operations and are adopted by partner teams
- Designs scalable frameworks, operating models, controls, service levels, runbooks, quality practices, and ways of working that improve execution beyond a single initiative or domain
- Manages a portfolio of interdependent work, balancing scope, timelines, capacity, quality, risk, and business value across multiple areas
- De-risks delivery by anticipating and removing systemic issues, clarifying ownership and decision rights, and creating mitigation strategies for material cross-team dependencies
- Sets measurement frameworks and data standards across areas; applies rigorous analytical judgment to consequential decisions and challenges metrics that do not demonstrate meaningful value
- Influences executive decision-making through data-driven recommendations, portfolio insights, and business cases that shape strategic priorities, investments, and trade-offs across the organization
- Simplifies the most complex Data & BI topics for senior leaders and cross-functional teams and manages the overall narrative in high-impact discussions and governance forums
- Shapes vendor and partner strategy, performance expectations, and major commercial or service discussions; holds external parties accountable for outcomes and commitments
- Establishes long-term Data & BI Operations strategy and portfolio roadmaps that guide investment, capability development, platform modernization, governance, automation, and operating-model evolution across multiple teams
- Ensures work aligns to company and Data & BI Operations strategic priorities, compliance obligations, regulatory expectations, and appropriate controls.
- Leads organizational change within the scope of assigned portfolios by providing clarity during uncertainty, establishing new ways of working, and bringing stakeholders and delivery teams along
- Produces and presents polished executive communications, decision materials, portfolio updates, and governance packs that clearly articulate progress, value, choices, risks, and required actions
- Multiplies team effectiveness without direct authority by coaching project managers, establishing reusable frameworks and delivery standards, and enabling consistent execution across teams and portfolios
- Role models inclusive collaboration by soliciting diverse perspectives, creating opportunities for shared decision-making, and setting expectations for fair treatment and mutual accountability.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience leading complex technical programs, portfolios, operations, analytics, or a similar function across multiple business and technical domains
- Demonstrated success setting direction across multiple products, operational domains, or portfolios and resolving ambiguous, cross-cutting problems
- Proven track record designing and implementing delivery frameworks, governance models, service levels, controls, or operating models adopted across multiple teams
- Demonstrated experience influencing executive leaders, shaping investment and prioritization decisions, and driving organizational change without direct reporting authority
- Exceptional written, verbal, storytelling, and executive presentation skills, including the ability to simplify highly complex Data & BI topics
- Deep experience with data and analytics capabilities such as dashboards, predictive modelling, semantic or analytical data products, data warehouses, data platforms, governance, and automation
- Strong analytical judgment and experience defining measurement frameworks, data standards, and success measures for consequential decisions
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale data, analytics, platform modernization, governance, or transformation portfolios spanning multiple functional areas, with accountability for scope, dependencies, capacity, timelines, quality, risk, and value.
- Experience shaping vendor or partner strategy and holding external parties accountable for complex commercial or service commitments
- Proven ability to lead change, clarify ownership and decision rights, mentor others informally, and raise delivery standards across an organization
- Relevant gaming, sports, regulated industry, or comparable industry experience is a plus
