The Crown Is Yours

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the Finance Team by owning one of our most specialized and high-impact accounting processes: software capitalization. You’ll partner across the business to ensure accounting accuracy, improve processes, and support timely financial reporting in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Beyond day-to-day execution, you’ll identify opportunities to modernize workflows through automation and artificial intelligence while helping scale our accounting operations alongside the business.

What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant

  • Own the end-to-end software capitalization process by evaluating projects for capitalization eligibility, tracking employee time, preparing journal entries, maintaining reconciliations and amortization schedules, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to provide guidance, answer questions, and ensure complete, accurate, and timely collection of information needed to support the software capitalization process.

  • Play a key role in the monthly close by preparing prepaid and accrual journal entries, completing general ledger reconciliations, performing variance analyses, and delivering accurate financial results.

  • Own high-visibility accounting areas, including prepaids and accruals related to software, professional services, and other operating expenses.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase operational efficiency through automation, artificial intelligence, and scalable solutions.

  • Create and maintain clear documentation of accounting processes, controls, and procedures to support compliance with internal controls and annual audits.

  • Support financial statement and Sarbanes-Oxley audits by responding to audit requests and partnering with internal and external auditors.

  • Analyze financial results, communicate insights to Finance leadership, and recommend process improvements that strengthen the overall control environment.

What you’ll bring

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field with at least 3 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a publicly traded company.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

  • Experience with software capitalization or accounting within a software or technology environment is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), month-end close processes, and general ledger accounting.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze, manipulate, and present financial data in a clear and meaningful way.

  • Experience with NetSuite, Coupa, or similar enterprise resource planning and procurement systems is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for building scalable processes, embracing new technologies, and collaborating across teams to solve complex business challenges.
