Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dallas Mavericks are looking for qualified applicants to assist the Community Impact department with a variety of independent and group projects and responsibilities. Key responsibilities include assisting with Mavs Foundation initiatives, managing Community Ticket Program, and overall support of Community Impact initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in sports philanthropy, nonprofit partnerships, and community impact.
 
Seasonal assistant position will begin October 2026-through one week following the end of the 2026-2027 season(including playoffs).
Part-Time employment position, limited to 29 hours per week with no additional employee benefits or relocation expenses will be covered.
 
JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with a wide variety of community programs and projects that drive brand awareness and community impact.
  • Perform daily office duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Community Impact including external correspondence with community partners, assistance with Excel reports and compiling data, and executing donation requests.
  • Assist with Community Impact initiatives including community programs, nonprofit partnership engagements, fundraisers, and external events.
  • Management of ticket donations and nonprofit group support for the Community Ticket Program.
  • Support partner stewardship through follow-up communications, thank-you correspondence, and documentation.
  • Support  Dallas Mavericks home games assisting with in-game activations, group organization and management.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a must. Previous experience with Microsoft Teams preferred.
  • Experience working with nonprofits/community engagement/events through various processes including development, planning and execution.
  • Working knowledge of the Dallas Mavericks and NBA.
  • Working knowledge of community-based organizations and nonprofit organization structure
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize within in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and engage with fans with a customer first attitude.
  • Must be highly motivated, goal oriented, and a self-starter.
  • To be considered for this role, the candidate must be available to work approximately 29 hours per week (3-4 day/wk.), which will include nights and weekends as needed, as well as travel within 75 miles of American Airlines Center 
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Recent college graduate with preferred concentration in Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Advertising or Nonprofit Management.
