Position: Project Manager, Facilities Operations
Department: Facilities Operations, Rogers Arena
Reports to: Director, Arena Operations
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager, Facilities Operations for Canucks Sports & Entertainment is responsible for managing building maintenance, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects at Rogers Arena. Working closely with Arena Operations, Facilities, Building Operations, Finance, and external partners, this role will manage projects from scope development through completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
The role will also support building maintenance activities by managing the completion of repairs, improvements, contractors, and technical work that require project management or cross-functional coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilities Projects & Maintenance
- Lead and manage facilities, infrastructure, building improvement, and maintenance projects from planning through completion.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate contractors, trades, consultants, engineers, and vendors.
- Conduct a regular, ongoing review and assessment of all areas of Rogers Arena to determine required maintenance and upgrade plans
- Manage building repair projects, upgrades, shutdowns, and maintenance work
- Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, quality, and deficiencies.
- Coordinate work around the arena’s busy event and operational schedule.
- Ensure project closeout, documentation, warranties, and turnover to Building Operations are completed.
Building Systems
- Manage projects involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, life safety, and other major building systems.
- Work with Facilities and Building Operations to identify and address building issues requiring repairs, upgrades, or project work.
- Coordinate technical assessments, engineering reviews, inspections, and related project requirements.
- Translate technical recommendations into clear project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Arena Operations, Facilities, Building Operations, Event Services, Security, Hospitality, Retail, IT, Finance, Corporate Partnerships and other departments as required.
- Communicate project schedules, impacts, and requirements to affected teams.
- Provide regular project updates and escalate risks, delays, and budget concerns to leadership.
- Support arena renovations, upgrades, and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or diploma in project management, construction management, engineering, facilities management, building technology, or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in project management, facilities, construction, engineering, building maintenance, or a related field
- PMP or equivalent project management experience is a strong asset
- Experience managing projects in an active operating environment
- Experience managing facilities, construction, infrastructure, or building maintenance projects
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during events as needed to support project and building operations
- Working knowledge of major building systems and facility operations
- Experience working with contractors, trades, engineers, consultants, and vendors
- Strong project management, scheduling, budgeting, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills
- Experience in a large public assembly venue, sports and entertainment facility, commercial property, or similarly complex environment is an asset.
