The Utah Royals FC, Real Salt Lake (RSL), and RSL Training Academy are dedicated to the growth and success of soccer in Utah. SUMMARY
Photography interns will have the opportunity to learn about the brand and vision of the Real Salt Lake organization and what it takes to be a creative in a professional sports environment (including but not limited to general content creation, conceptualizing project, editing, and fitting in with the brand). In this internship you will further develop general critical thinking, problem solving, time management, communication, and organizational skills.
This internship requires a minimum commitment of working every home game at America First Field or Zions Bank Stadium. In-office hours are also required throughout the work week to capture content, edit photos, as well as complete other duties as assigned. Please note that the RSL, Royals and Real Monarch’s seasons may run through November.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Creates useable images for Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals FC, Real Monarchs and Real Salt Lake Academy social platforms
- Captures photos at RSL/Royals/Real Monarchs matches, training sessions, Community Relations events, etc.
- Proposes creative ways to create content across social media platforms
- Assists the marketing team with other duties at Real Salt Lake, Royals and Real Monarchs matches
- Capture content for community, marketing events, and Special Olympics Unified Tea
- Manage ways to create content across social media platforms
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interest in photography
- Must have Studio experience but not required (shooting with strobes, on camera flash, etc.)
- Must know how to use your camera in full manual mode (shutter speed, ISO, aperture, White Balance, etc.)
- Must be able to follow instructions and learn from constructive criticism when given
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be available for 20-30 hours per week
- Must provide portfolio for review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Adobe Suite, (Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom)
- Basic knowledge of soccer is not required, but highly suggested as interns will need to have a working understanding of the game to fulfill several responsibilities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 25 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
