Manager, E-Commerce
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $75,000 to $80,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Manager, E-Commerce is responsible for driving online retail performance through the strategic management of the organization’s e-commerce platforms and digital merchandising initiatives. This role owns the day-to-day operations, optimization, and growth of the online store, ensuring a seamless customer experience while maximizing revenue, conversion, and engagement. The Manager partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, IT, Retail Operations, and external vendors to execute digital commerce strategies aligned with brand standards, seasonal campaigns, and fan engagement priorities. This role combines hands-on platform management with data-driven decision-making and operational leadership in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall performance of the e-commerce business, including revenue, conversion rate, average order value, and customer engagement
- Develop and execute e-commerce strategies aligned with brand, marketing, and retail objectives
- Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and performance metrics to inform merchandising and promotional decisions
- Identify opportunities to optimize the online shopping experience and drive incremental revenue
- Manage day-to-day operations of the e-commerce platform, including product setup, pricing, promotions, and content updates
- Partner with IT and third-party vendors to support platform enhancements, integrations, and issue resolution
- Ensure site functionality, uptime, performance, and mobile optimization
- Oversee product launches, seasonal refreshes, and limited-edition drops
- Lead digital merchandising strategy, including product assortment, categorization, and on-site presentation
- Partner with Creative and Marketing teams to ensure compelling product imagery, descriptions, and storytelling
- Coordinate promotional calendars tied to key events, games, holidays, and marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with Retail Operations, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to ensure accurate inventory, timely fulfillment, and high service standards
- Monitor order flow, fulfillment performance, returns, and customer feedback
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Partner with Marketing to support email, paid media, social, and promotional campaigns that drive e-commerce traffic and sales
- Coordinate with Licensing, Partnerships, and Brand teams to support approved product offerings and compliance requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for e-commerce initiatives across internal departments
- Manage and develop e-commerce team members and/or external resources as applicable
- Establish clear priorities, workflows, and performance expectations
- Promote best practices, accountability, and continuous improvement within the function
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, E-Commerce, Digital Media, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or online retail management
- Experience managing an e-commerce platform in a consumer-facing, brand-driven environment
- Experience in sports, entertainment, retail, or lifestyle brands strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, digital merchandising, and online consumer behavior
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics tools to inform decisions
- Knowledge of inventory management, fulfillment workflows, and customer service operations
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Able to collaborate effectively across creative, technical, and operational teams
- Able to translate business objectives into actionable e-commerce initiatives
- Able to work flexible hours as needed to support live events, launches, or peak retail periods
