Position Summary:

The Director, Performance Marketing bridges the gap between business insights and business performance. This leader must be equally at home in a SQL environment and an executive boardroom — translating complex data into clear, actionable direction across every facet of the organization: revenue generation, brand growth, and fan engagement.

This role oversees the organization's data warehouse, CRM ecosystem, and automated reporting, while supporting cross-functional strategic initiatives and fan experience development. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in database management, customer analysis, and business intelligence, paired with a proven track record of using insights to drive revenue, deepen customer relationships, and improve operations at scale.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead marketing data strategy and performance insights.
  • Manage the organization's data strategy, maintaining and expanding the data warehouse, CRM, and real-time data center while ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with GDPR/CCPA and data governance policies.
  • Integrate internal and external data sources; identify, vet, and negotiate with best-in-class data vendors.
  • Manage the NFL Shared Database to support brand awareness, sales, marketing, and league compliance.
  • Develop and maintain customer segmentation models and lifecycle frameworks to support targeted marketing, retention, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Design and deliver executive dashboards and data visualizations that drive alignment and accountability across all departments.
  • Lead advanced campaign analysis and ROI reporting for B2B and B2C initiatives across digital marketing and experiential fan engagement.
  • Support across all fan feedback initiatives — post-game surveys, real-time feedback, member surveys, and event recaps.
  • Build and maintain automated reporting infrastructure to deliver timely, consistent performance data across departments.
  • Partner with business units to align performance insights and support cross-functional strategy development, bringing a data-driven and fan-first lens to partnership strategy, retail and concessions, new business development, and special projects.
  • Build high-quality models, competitive analyses, and executive presentations to inform decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Manage key vendor relationships to advance team initiatives, improve fan experience, maximize revenue, support deal negotiations and long-term capital expenditure modeling.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the business analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships across departments, acting as a strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leaders and executives.
  • Communicate complex data and recommendations confidently to all audiences — from analysts to the C-suite — through presentations, reports, and direct dialogue.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Proven ability to bridge technical data expertise with strategic business thinking and executive communication.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Track record of building high-performing teams and developing talent through mentorship.
  • Financial modeling proficiency with the ability to structure problems, build models, and present findings with precision.
  • Creative problem-solver with intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a bias toward action.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 8-10 years; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and Tableau (required); CRM platform experience — Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics (required).
  • Experience with Python and R (required); Qualtrics, SAP HANA, Snowflake (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Excel (financial modeling), PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
  • Professional sports or fan-facing consumer business experience is a strong plus.
