Job description

The Opportunity

Great creative work does not happen by accident. It happens when the right people know what they are making, why it matters, and when it is due. The Creative Project Manager makes that happen for the Memphis Grizzlies. You will be the central point of contact, owning the intake, prioritization, and project management of creative requests across the organization, and making sure every project is clearly scoped, properly resourced, delivered on time, and tied to the goals behind it.

This role is not about processing tickets in Wrike. It exists so that Creative and Marketing operate as one aligned system, and so our designers, motion artists, and copywriters can spend their energy on great work instead of chasing missing details. As a member of the Creative Services team, you will partner closely with them, with outside agencies, and with teams across the organization. From everyday requests to tentpole campaigns and playoff runs, you are the person who keeps everyone moving in the same direction. If you want to be the reason a talented team does its best work, this is the role for you.

In This Role You Will

Own Creative Project Intake, Prioritization & Planning

  • Serve as the project manager for all Creative requests across the organization, ensuring projects are clearly scoped, prioritized, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Lead project tipoff discussions, define deliverables, establish timelines, and create execution plans for Creative work across digital, social, print, broadcast, in-arena, and other marketing channels.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and ensure requests are ready for execution before being assigned to the Creative team.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines, and reporting within Wrike, ensuring it serves as the source of truth for all creative work.

Drive Project Execution & On-Time Delivery

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of creative projects, from intake through production, approvals, revisions, and final delivery.
  • Coordinate work across designers, production artists, agency partners, and other stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Facilitate feedback and approval processes, proactively identifying risks, resolving roadblocks, and keeping projects moving forward.
  • Monitor project milestones and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.

Partner Across Marketing & the Organization

  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing Project Manager to align creative deliverables with integrated marketing campaigns, organizational priorities, and key business initiatives.
  • Support the planning and execution of major campaigns, product launches, tentpole moments, and other high-profile initiatives requiring cross-functional coordination.
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to ensure creative projects are delivered on time and achieve intended outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact between Creative Services and organizational stakeholders.

Manage Team Capacity & Inform Leadership

  • Partner with the Director of Creative Services to balance workloads, prioritize resources, and plan for upcoming demand.
  • Provide visibility into project status, team capacity, workload trends, and potential risks, enabling Creative leadership to make informed decisions and adjustments.
  • Anticipate resource constraints and recommend solutions before deadlines or quality are impacted.

Strengthen Creative Operations

  • Champion adoption and effective use of Wrike across Creative Services, Marketing, and stakeholder groups, ensuring consistent processes and accurate project data.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and operational metrics that provide visibility into project health, delivery performance, and team capacity.
  • Help manage the organization's Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure assets are organized, searchable, and easily accessible.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, intake processes, communication practices, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Support the management of creative assets, documentation, and standard operating procedures to help the department scale effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Success Looks Like

  • Every project starts with clear scope, defined deliverables, a realistic timeline, and named owners.
  • Stakeholders hear from you before they have to ask.
  • Problems come with a recommended solution, not just a flag.
  • The Creative team is never overloaded without notice.
  • Creative and Marketing work as one aligned system.
  • Intake quality, alignment, and proactive project management improve steadily over time.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 to 5 years' of professional experience in project management, creative operations, or a related role.
  • Experience working with creative teams supporting graphic design, motion, and copy deliverables.
  • Familiarity with project management tools. Experience with Wrike preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
  • High attention to detail, especially with proofing and quality assurance.
  • Clear communication with both creative teams and non-creative stakeholders.
  • Confidence leading cross-functional meetings and respectfully pushing back on timelines or scope.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to see challenges coming and take ownership of solving them.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or media organizations.
  • Prior experience managing creative workflows at scale.
  • Understanding of creative production processes for print, digital, social, and in-arena content.
  • Passion for brand, storytelling, and creative excellence.
