Coordinator Digital Content

Who are we hiring?   

The Coordinator, Digital Content will support the Rangers content team by ideating, creating, and publishing social media content. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of how people digest and engage with social content, have an eye for detail and stay up-to-date on cultural trends and industry best practices, especially as it pertains to emerging platforms. This position reports to the Specialist, Digital Content and will collaborate with the content team around team coverage, tentpole events, marketing partnerships, community programs and more.  

 What will you do?   

• Assist in capturing, creating, writing copy and publishing content for Rangers social media channels, with a focus on emerging platforms  
• Provide coverage of Rangers home and away games with the goal of sharing compelling content that captures attention
• Stay on top of social media trends and integrate new opportunities for the organization’s social presence
• Coordinate with the Youth Hockey team to lead the day-to-day management of Jr Rangers social media accounts
• Attend and provide coverage of Jr. Rangers events, community initiatives, team practices and other events as needed
• Assist in reporting metrics, surfacing insights and learnings stemming from day-to-day posts and campaigns
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
• Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.  

What do you need to succeed?   

• 1-2 years of relevant experience, hockey or sports background preferred
• Knowledge of the NHL preferred
• Strong written communication skills, including copywriting, proofreading and the ability to write copy specific to platforms  
• Experience creating content using Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Slate in addition to familiarity with operating a camera
• Understanding of current and emerging social media platforms and trends
• Must be able to work Rangers games based on team schedule as needed; this includes remote coverage of road games
• Experience operating social media platforms for a brand or team
• Versatile interpersonal skills and professionalism to work across multiple environments and departments  
• Detail oriented with a track record of managing multiple projects at once and delivering on time  
• Ability to work autonomously but also able to sync accordingly with full cross-department planning  
• Experience with content management tools such as Sprout, Tableau and Airtable a plus
